I resolve to absolve myself from all worldly interests and devote my life to the greatest purpose of all: Full Time Sageteering.
What, you mean you haven't already?

Stop obsessively messing around with my eyebrows. They've been waxed, threaded and tweezed mercilessly throughout the years. I want them to know they are welcome to return and I won't evict them...well, most of them won't be. Gotta remove the stragglers.

Be open to experiences that I typically would not consider for myself.

Adopt a more positive inner dialogue.

Aim to meditate 30 minutes/day.

Let's see...for 2014...

I want to be a more driven person. I need to find my direction and set my course. I'm tired of the bouncing about aimlessly. It feels wasteful. I know that I'm not living to my potential. Not only does it sell myself short, what does this say to my teenagers??? I want more for them so I should be more as a person to set the right example.

I want to turn 40 with a smile and a solid 'Eff you' for Mother Nature. I don't pretend to be her friend. We can agree to our mutual ongoing battles and get on with it.

I want to take care of my (evil aging) body better. Not going to say "lose weight". Not going to say "eat healthy". Not going to say a size or weight to obtain. I just want to be able to do reasonable physical activities when the opportunities present themselves. Life is too darned short. So many people I love can't do the things they want to physically because of health issues. Who am I to squander a relatively healthy/able body on laziness and complacency??? THAT is wrong.

I want to be a more positive person. We all have choices in life. Choices every day. Do you pay attention to the good or the bad? I want to put more emphasis on the positives and focus more energy productively. Negatives should be learned from.....which turns them to positives. Right?

I want to make our home, wherever that may be, feel more like one. However I can make that happen, I want to do it. We shouldn't live in a perpetual temporary-ness. Home is where we're together. End of story.

Okay, I'll be serious now.

Read more books for fun, not just for school. I used to read all the time. Then I started getting migraines. Now the headaches are under control and I've got the reading glasses I needed, I can read more.

Endeavor to use my reading glasses more instead of just pushing through it and ending up with a headache, and ending up not reading it properly anyway.

Play piano more. I've been letting that slide in favor of singing.

Strive to worry unnecessarily less. For instance, I will stop driving down the street, getting halfway down, and then stopping the car to make sure that my backpack is in the trunk. I've yet to leave it behind; I've been getting myself to school for a year and a half now; I need to trust myself.

Spend more time in the sun.

Listen and not yell during my son's telephone technology assists (he asked for that for Christmas.)

Wash my car more often.

Be happy with my choices, even if they suck.

Learn some Spanish!
