New Years Celebration At PI

Hi from germany,

at my last visist at WDW January 2000 i loved the daily new years celebration at Pleasure Island. Now i am going to visit WDW again in October. But i can't find any information concerning that daily event. Doesn't it take place any longer? On the WDW official site the don't mention the new years celebration in a word.

It's not that i would be disapointed if it doesn't take place. It wasn't a big thing, but very funny and i enjoid it.

So any one know something about that?

Every night at Midnight they Still celebrate New Years Eve

I was there in late July and I must say that I was a bit dissapointed with the whole New Years celebration this time. In previous years the place was packed with people dancing and cheering when midnight struck and this year the excitement just wasn't there. Also the most dissapointing thing was that they no longer shoot the confetti all over the island. We asked a CM about it and thery told us the the clean-up every night was too much work.

Cheapskates!
Last time I was at Disney, one of the reasons it felt so magical and was the best place i'd ever been was the extra attention to detail and the fact that nothing, ever seemed like too much trouble...

I really hope this hasn't changed... otherwise it just might as well be Disneyland Paris in Florida.

Ever since they got rid of the Pleasure Island Dancers, the NYE celebration hasn't been the same. While the last show may have been a little corny (We need to crash the computer by midnight to keep the party going...whoop-de-do for level 2!:lol: ), they still played great music and it was fun. Also, it seems as if they have cut back on the fireworks they shot off as well.

I just got back form WDW yesterday. I went to PI twice and had a good time. The 80Z Boyz were really good. I really loved hearing White Wedding and Dancing With Myself. The last time I was at PI was for New Year's Eve of 1995.
