Hi guys
Just in the beginning of planning a kinda last minute trip to the world for new year/first week of Jan
Any advice?
What should I be expecting crowd wise?
Only been in May/June and September/October/November before

Love a little Disney every day!! ;)
New Year's Eve, day, and possibly day after will be EXTREMELY packed. (Busiest all year) After that it will be fine crowd wise as they taper off because folks gotta head back home to get kids back in school or go back to work. :)

Basically besides the castle lights being still up while you are there most other events end by 1/1. They have the special New Year's fireworks at the parks on 12/31. Candlelight processional and holidays around the world at Epcot ends 12/30. So you will just miss that. Most happenings are over besides some decorations still being up when you will be there. :)

If you're going there to celebrate NYE then expect chaos - anything less is a bonus. Get to your NYE park no later than mid morning or face the possibility of lock down.
If you're not going to the parks for NYE then I would go much earlier in December - same lights, parades etc but slightly smaller crowds

The chaos doesn't bother me just want to be prepared
Unfortunately due to work I can't go in December so this is my only way to experience anything over the holidays
Thanks for the tips about the parks though hadn't thought about lock downs

Friend of mine went last year because he wanted to experience NYE first hand. Shoulder to shoulder guests, very little chance to experience many attractions in a day because of the insane lengths of lines, packed places to eat. Blocked sidewalks, lengthy time to get from one place to another and long waits for transportation. His comment was... Well I can say I did it.... but never again.
