this is a quote from Eyes and Ears, a Cast Member News Paper.

''DAK will welcome members of the media to a fifth anniversary press event on April 22nd (earth day)
Watch th Eyes and Ears module on the WDW CM portal that after noon for DETAILS about the event and a MAJOR announcement about a future project at DAK''

Ill visit the portal that PM, and report word for word, what it has to say. Can not wait!!

DAK CELEBRATES 5th Anniversary on the 22nd, by the way.

Mickeys Philharmagic

They have taken down part of the wall, and revieled what will be the FP return line, that will be just to the left of the old Lion King entrance, and it runs straight to what appears to be a new side door on the left. The FP signage has not yet been put up, but it appears the actual attraction sign has, all though it is covered up in black cloth. Right to the right of the FP return, appiers to be the Standy by entrance, and that weves into the area that is still blocked off. Word has it that CM previews will start as early as June.

Disneys Port Orleans.

French Quarter will close first, for about a year. For the Next 2 years Riverside will be closed in Phases, like over at the Poly. However, I have heard that Pop Century WILL be opening by the end of this year, as it has something to due with the taxs WDW is paying on it. And the plan might be to CLOSE all of port orleans, move the staff over to PC, and open that later this year. Guess we will have to wait and see. This is all very rumor at this point.

Disney WILL NO LONGER HAVE PROPERTY WIDE CELEBRATIONS IN HONER OF BIRTHDAYS. WDW has decieded that celebrating people, IE Walt, and Characters, IE Mickeys 75th, DATES them, and Disney does not want its characters to appair that they are getting old. They said that it can confuse kids, and doesn not want its characters getting old in the puplic eye. SO, THERE WILL BE NO MORE CELEBRATIONS OF BIRTHDAYS.

This does not include anniversaries.

The Castle Show will not run on MAY 2nd, 3rd or 9th, due to Grad Nights. It will run on april 25th and 26th, however.

Well folks, that is about all i can come up with this week. Enjoy and have a Happy Easter!!!!

PS

This date in WDW History.

What could guests no longer due at WDW theme parks as of APRIL 19th, 1999???? hint :zipit:

Re: Re: New Wdw News Update!!! (mk May Hours Extended, Spectro, Fits, Erides Added!!!

With all due respect, your thread is about the Local TV news talking about EE. My Thread was about a WDW CM news paper talking about the press event. 2 Completly different things. I dont see what your point was to posting a link to one of your threads that is on a different subject.

Sorry if I misunderstood your intent.

Way to keep us informed FL!!! A little bummed about Pooh being down during May, my girlfriend loves that ride, but the two E Ride Nights added during my stay along with the added Spectros certainly make up for it. Thanks Again!

I am incredibly bummed that Pooh and Great Movie Ride will be closed when I go down. To make things worse, they are BOTH opening the day I leave! Why must they close two rides down around the same time... and then open them up the exact same day?? Isn't that a little strange? Is the 28th of June national ride re-opening day?? Sorry I am just a little upset. :(

MAY HOURS EXENTED AT MK.

1st, 9-9, SM at 8:30, FW at 9:15
6th, 9-9, SM at 8:30, FW at 9:15

*(((HUGS))) FLcastmember* THANK YOU!!!!

Man, you had just made my day!! I will be in Walt Disney World from May 2nd - 10th, leaving at 3pm on the 10th. Originally, the schedule did not have the FW at MK until after my departure, and when you posted this ......... I was dancing ! :sohappy:

That kinda bites tho that Pooh will be shut down. I can understand why tho -- they have it scheduled just as the Peak travel season winds down into the "regular" season...so it is a good move to do that, however, it does not help me that they are shutting all these rides down....I guess the first week of May was not such a hot idea after all.

But HEY! I am down there for nine days. I am gonna have fun with what I do have to my avail! :D

Did I hear you right that PhilharMagic is almost done? Do you think it might open this summer? That would be a complete surprise to me--a good one though:) Also...I knew disney wouldn't go a whole month w/o playing Spectro...that woulda been nuts. Regardless, thanks for another great update! Keep em coming!

This makes me sad becuase I was looking forward to going down the year I turn 40 because that's the same year Mickey turns 100. Well who really needs a reason to go to WDW anyways? I'm glad to hear that the lines are pretty long now though. Glad to hear they extended the hours too. Thanks for the update!
