You are correct si si ni sawa we are the same thank you for clarifying your positionWelcome to the Disney Parks Forum Colosseum. This is where the "pro-Burbank" and "anti-Burbank" gladiators fight it out with keyboards..
No matter what side you are on, we can be sure that everybody here is big "Disney" fan. Even with our differences, that's the one thing we ALL share together.
Me? I'm radical, mega, hardcore, extreme "pro-Disney" but also "anti-Burbank" all the way! ;-)
As in,..."the ends justify the means"All this thread has taught me is that some of you seem to think providing a reason for an action is inherently intended to excuse said action when that’s not really the case
Not exactly. I mean that explaining why a villain does something doesn’t necessarily mean that the movie is asking you to excuse what they did. They just want to tell you why they did it.As in,..."the ends justify the means"
Like that?
As a vegetarian this is a good pointWould Cruella be so evil if she wanted to kill not young dogs but young cows for a nice veal dinner?
Exactly it.Not exactly. I mean that explaining why a villain does something doesn’t necessarily mean that the movie is asking you to excuse what they did. They just want to tell you why they did it.
Like for example in a crime documentary, a lot of time is spent on the killer’s background and their motives. Not in an effort to make the audience feel what they did was alright, but rather to provide context to the act because human beings are naturally curious about “whys”.
To use an example from this thread, I don’t think Cruella wants you to believe she is not a villain or that what she does is right, all the movie is doing is providing the context of why she does what she does.
Y'know,...you bring up a very good point.Would Cruella be so evil if she wanted to kill not young dogs but young cows for a nice veal dinner?
You know I always thought even as a kid that there’s probably someone like cruella in the world and someone probably considers them reasonableY'know,...you bring up a very good point.
Maybe we "all" have some "Cruella" inside of us??
aka Microsoft EdgeNo, they put out a casting notice for Maleficnet

Oh yes. What you say has been happening for thousands of years. You know I always thought even as a kid that there’s probably someone like cruella in the world and someone probably considers them reasonable
I feel like I should clarify my position when it comes to this the animated cruella and the other live action version are supposed to be unforgivable the one in cruella is not if they ever get around to making the sequel I imagine it will be a twisted retelling of 101 Dalmatians where cruella will be shown to appear more reasonable.Cruella is not cannon to the animated or live- action version of the story it is its own thing
Or if she wanted to kill dogs not for their fur but for their delicious spare ribs and loins?Would Cruella be so evil if she wanted to kill not young dogs but young cows for a nice veal dinner?
