New Transportation Option to/from MCO for Deluxe Resort Guests

Again, different people have different circumstances, regardless of money.

There are many, many people who live in Florida and go to Disney and it’s not some “big vacation“ or big splurge or whatever.

We almost always go for 2 to 3 nights just to get away. We are a 3 Hour drive away, and sometimes we drive, sometimes we fly, and sometimes we take the Brightline train. We have no kids. We don’t care about car seats. We like the Uber XL because we have bad backs and won’t get smashed into the backseat of a Prius.

When we take the train, it leaves us at the airport and then we have to get from the airport to Disney World. Mears wastes a lot of time. I’ve done it a couple of times. Much like what you’re saying, we will most often take a rideshare directly to our hotel. It averages $65.

Now, I don’t know whether they will have some train rides that will go nonstop to Disney Springs, I hope so. If not, we may have to change trains at the airport just to take the last leg of the trip. What could be easier than that?

I would rather do that than take an Uber from the airport. But I can see myself doing different things on different trips for various reasons.

Now, if we flew up, which is very cheap and in the end takes about the same time as the train, all in, why wouldn’t we also take the train to Disney Springs? I’m guessing we would try it out, and if it sucks, we will go back to taking a Rideshare. Maybe it will depend on what time of day we get in. Maybe it will depend on if we are bringing a pet. Maybe it will depend on whether it’s a special occasion.

It’s not hard to imagine other people and other circumstances. I have no trouble imagining people who need two car seats.

Again, there is obviously enough demand to make a train station.

I almost always weigh the Minnie Van option when calling an Uber to go from our room to a park, for example. It’s always way out of line on price, even for a special occasion. I’d rather get a limo.

To each their own, and if this works for someone, good for them, sincerely.
And yet…you’re basically saying the pokie dot is kinda silly…

Which everyone knows on some if not multiple levels of consciousness

The Minnie van has really one purpose to me. It’s just a reinforcement of marketing gone amok

Opinions vary…that’s mine

Do you think they’re making a train station for no one to use?
I don't think the Disney station is intended for MCO to WDW guest. Schlep to terminal C then ride share from DS doesn't make sense.

Makes sense for guests taking the train from Miami to Disney.

Makes sense as a stop MCO to Tampa.
wizard? I live closer than Canada and I’ve never made it in that amount of time.
Google maps says current driving time from the Quebec NY border to DS is just over 22 hours.

Combine minimum gas and bathroom stops. Luck with traffic, lottery winning luck.
It's theoretically possible to make it in under 21 hours, rounded down to 20.

I live about a 2 hour drive over the border from Detroit, in Ontario, so it's about the shortest drive you could have from Canada to Orlando. Straight down I-75 to the Turnpike. The longest it's taken me is 24 hours, and that was because of that huge rockslide on the I-75 near Jellico, Tennessee.

That kinda defeats the purpose of “on property” a bit, no?
When we stay on property it’s not for the buses, it’s for the ability to walk, take a boat, take gondola, or take a monorail. If I have a choice between a bus only on property or staying at Club Wyndham Bonnet Creek, CWBC is winning every time for me.

Yeah, Google maps says it’s 17 hours from me. Google maps also doesn’t account for the need to stop occasionally to get gas, go to the bathroom, and the fact that you’re almost guaranteed to hit unexpected traffic in multiple places.
Ive done the drive once and we made it from Wdw to NYC (Brooklyn) in just under 16 hours

We had a horrible experience with MEARS connect this trip. Like at least a 90 min wait pushing 2 hours. Still wouldn’t touch this offer. We’ll uber or Lyft next time. We were pleasantly surprised by how great bell services was this trip—no charge to drop off groceries or bags in the room. And checking in suitcases for Southwest on the way out was wonderful. Time to bring these services all the way back!

How did they handle passengers who needed to pay for checked bags?

I would imagine you have to buy them in the apps?

There really is never a reason/incentive not to…
The original announcement said passengers could only pay for bags at the counter or kiosks at the airport.

I was wondering SW changed or if the resort desk could accept payment. The service is basically a remote bag drop.

Looking for 1st hand experience
