You still have the same distance to travel either way. You can’t skip the airport unless you’re driving.
Give me a direct way from airport to hotel. Each & every time. Who wants to really deal with a train then another bus or uber anyways. Especially with kids and strollers. News flash if you cant say afford the 100$ say. You really shouldnt be spending thousands at Disney than. Not coming at you but how choosing this “free” inconvenient option would make zero sense to me

One thing I have observed in life is - the people who do the best financially (relative to income, of course) are the people who circle for 30 minutes because they refuse to pay for parking and drive to another grocery store because yogurt is 50 cents cheaper.

I am not that person. I’m impatient and have no ability to remember the cost of items at 5 different stores. But little things definitely add up, the people who sweat the small stuff win financially in the long run.

Nobody has said the train would be free.

I did take Lynx on my last trip for $2. Probably won’t do it again. The only thing that made the extra time worth it was the stop at epic - was fun to see it for the first time.

But saving money is saving money!

I ate at Tiffins because of the 40% off - if I can’t afford the 40% I probably can’t afford the AP by your logic.

every day life vs vacation. 2 completely different animals. Im just saying traveling with kids and strollers after a flight you want the most convenient and quickest route possible.

My logic is this. You aregoing on vacation. If you havechildren for example and have strollers extra bags etc. you want your trip to start and have it start in a way its convenient and easy not flying then having to get to a train that takes you to ds then get an uber any ways or another disney bus to your hotel… it just makes no sense and now add in if the only reason you do that is because the nominal fee which people have been paying for years now is a deal breaker probably not the wisest thing to do and spend thousands upon thousands on a vacation

This just in: Value resort guests can book a transfer from MCO to their resort for $100 each way. They will be magically transported in a 1986 Plymouth Reliant (or a 1985 Dodge Caravan, depending on party size) with rusting that looks like the shape of hidden Mickeys!

But seriously, all but one recent trip to WDW for me was a road trip from Canada that was a 19-20 hour drive-and the total amount of $$ spent on gas for the round trip was less than $400. The one time I flew to WDW was in 2017, when DME existed. If you are able to drive there, and don't mind a lengthy road trip, it's a great option.

Sure, my child is easily overstimulated and I totally get that. Just saying I’m not going to knock anyone for saving some money. It really does add up if you watch your pennies over time.

Im not disagreeing regarding saving money in every day life all im saying is this. It $100 is a make it or break it decision on a trip that may cost say 4k-5k you probably are not making a wise decision of going

Look beyond your own circumstances.

Do you think they’re making a train station for no one to use?

There’s a balance in there somewhere.

I dk who they are making this for & why. Im simply saying taking a direct route is more convenient especially with kids is the way to go especially considering the nominal cost. I love this forum one hand we have people saying 200 each way to ride in polka dot van is great & worth it & others saying a 60 cab ride is excessive.

Yeah but it doesn’t have to be a make or break decision. Have you looked at some of the hacks on Disney budget boards? People go to great lengths to save a little here, a little there. A hundred dollars towards your next trip is great, if that’s a person’s priority.

Again, different people have different circumstances, regardless of money.

There are many, many people who live in Florida and go to Disney and it’s not some “big vacation“ or big splurge or whatever.

We almost always go for 2 to 3 nights just to get away. We are a 3 Hour drive away, and sometimes we drive, sometimes we fly, and sometimes we take the Brightline train. We have no kids. We don’t care about car seats. We like the Uber XL because we have bad backs and won’t get smashed into the backseat of a Prius.

When we take the train, it leaves us at the airport and then we have to get from the airport to Disney World. Mears wastes a lot of time. I’ve done it a couple of times. Much like what you’re saying, we will most often take a rideshare directly to our hotel. It averages $65.

Now, I don’t know whether they will have some train rides that will go nonstop to Disney Springs, I hope so. If not, we may have to change trains at the airport just to take the last leg of the trip. What could be easier than that?

I would rather do that than take an Uber from the airport. But I can see myself doing different things on different trips for various reasons.

Now, if we flew up, which is very cheap and in the end takes about the same time as the train, all in, why wouldn’t we also take the train to Disney Springs? I’m guessing we would try it out, and if it sucks, we will go back to taking a Rideshare. Maybe it will depend on what time of day we get in. Maybe it will depend on if we are bringing a pet. Maybe it will depend on whether it’s a special occasion.

It’s not hard to imagine other people and other circumstances. I have no trouble imagining people who need two car seats.

Again, there is obviously enough demand to make a train station.

I almost always weigh the Minnie Van option when calling an Uber to go from our room to a park, for example. It’s always way out of line on price, even for a special occasion. I’d rather get a limo.

To each their own, and if this works for someone, good for them, sincerely.
