New Transportation Option to/from MCO for Deluxe Resort Guests

that’s one of the few reversals we’ve gotten. Disney took it away and gave it right back!
Unless you stay at shades of green :( :(

Or are staying at UNI as your home base and visiting WDW (but that always had parking fees)

Point being in this cite.. a rental is more than the rental fee itself for the week. Choose your strategy accordingly :)

They’re already testing the “bags from the airport to your hotel” program again, right?

Nothing changes. Fly to MCO, leave your bags, they take them to your room.

Meanwhile, from the very same airport, get on the Brightline train to Disney Springs without your luggage.

Your bus/Uber/private car service/Minnie Van of choice will be much faster and cheaper from DS than from MCO (and no risk of highway traffic jams.)

Other options: book your ride from the airport, or, take the train but bring your luggage. Luggage rolls.

Plenty of solutions to meet every budget and preference.
Okay understood. I still dont understand why someone would go thru all these different transfers to save a minimal amount of money. You can argue the flight time from NY is shorter then the time you land get to hotel and your luggage by choosing this route…. Just doesnt make sense to me especially with kids and strollers

One benefit to having a car - you can avoid the interminable and unpleasant waits for busses at the end of the night. I much prefer driving to say Epcot or DAK or DHS (MK is a whole different set of complexities).
This is why the monorail and Crescent Lake Resorts are more money (the Skyline also has and interminable wait at the end of the night) as you get to skip this at 2 out of the 3 parks you stay till closing (no one stays at AK till closing.)

That’s what’s so risible about this. It was a benefit to on site stays highly coveted by guests. The defenders will say, “Yeah, but it wasn’t free - you were paying for it.” Sure. But when it went away there was no commensurate drop in hotel rates or DVC fees. For the latter, I understand in 2021 Disney got some relief on property taxes, so that’s a double whammy of cost savings to the “owners” that seemingly never made their way to the “owners.” Welcome home, indeed!
For DVC, any property tax rebate is reflected in the dues. On the billing statement, there is a line item for property tax overpayment and it subtract from the total due. But you are correct that guests paying cash don't see a penny of that reflected in room rates just like rates still went up after DME went away.

I wasnt sure so then whats the point of taking the train to DS?
If you could actually hop on a train at MCO that ran direct to Disney property and catch an Uber or some sort of bus for the last mile to your hotel - it would be very nice.

But if anything actually gets built it will probably be the equivalent of the Lynx bus that already runs - only on rails.

Okay so lets say that was the case just think of the the time wasted now bc so many will be doing the same with others looking to use a similar service for what? To save yourself a uber from mco to ds. I get what you are saying but for what a a trip cost and when traveling with either younger kids or older grandparents to me its just not worth saving a $50 bill in thegrand scheme and lets face it. When you land you want to get to your hotel and start your trip asap

People are trying to conjure up a relatively cheap way to get to/from the parks. Which is fine! But the feasibility of this plan breaks down once you have to factor in luggage transport.
Totally agree but with Ubers/Cabs to me its just easy to use that to get me direct to my hotel and start my trip. Listen ive never used DME. I always rent a car now i know people who have used it tho and altho it was a nice “free” perk everyone i know basically miss the luggage help when laving as opposed to the transport bc now thy simply get a cab and at their hotel direct and way quicker…

You still have the same distance to travel either way. You can’t skip the airport unless you’re driving.

Yeah but multiple transfers seems a hassle, no?

I imagine if the day ever came and it got built…they’d “consider” building some kind of transfer station/shuttle…something?

It would have to be cost effective…but may serve as filling the “bubble” like tragical express did?

Of course I’m not sure about legalese? You’d have to verification - like tickets - I would think? To control costs and not having people hoping buses to the resorts and making the 45 minute springs buses “redundant”
