New Transportation Option to/from MCO for Deluxe Resort Guests

With all the resorts already having buses running to Disney Springs it wouldn’t take much to remove a couple seats and add luggage space to buses specifically running the Disney Springs route, with all the ADA space on the newer buses they probably wouldn’t even have to modify them.

We take the train every time we go to DL Paris and it’s very simple, get off the train with your luggage, walk to the shuttle area right outside the station and get on the next bus to your hotel, I don’t see any reason that wouldn’t work at WDW also. I doubt you’d ever get more than a handful of families with luggage going to any one resort at a time.
At that point we’d have gone from DME with luggage delivery service included to a train + bus where we have to move our own luggage (and strollers for families). That is a big downgrade in service IMO. Of course that doesn’t mean Disney won’t do it.

Don’t you think they will just wait out the new Brightline station?

People flying into the airport can then take the train to somewhere near Disney Springs.
Is the train station really a game changer? Imagine landing as a family with younger kids. Now having to take a train to DS with luggage then wait for a bus to your hotel as opposed spending i dk what around $60-70 for an Uber?

Could also just have Minnie Vans, Ubers, ECT available - would be cheaper for many that taking one all the way from MCO

Definitely ways to address but would take some logistics and wouldn't be a pure replacement for DME

I don't think Disney is planning on that too much. Personally if it only goes to Disney Springs I am not dealing with Luggage, etc - but who knows if/when/how it even happens

I think a bunch of people and their bags trying to get from Disney Springs to their hotel would be a disaster. That doesn't seem like much of a "service" either, particularly compared to what existed before and now.

They’re already testing the “bags from the airport to your hotel” program again, right?

Nothing changes. Fly to MCO, leave your bags, they take them to your room.

Meanwhile, from the very same airport, get on the Brightline train to Disney Springs without your luggage.

Your bus/Uber/private car service/Minnie Van of choice will be much faster and cheaper from DS than from MCO (and no risk of highway traffic jams.)

Other options: book your ride from the airport, or, take the train but bring your luggage. Luggage rolls.

Plenty of solutions to meet every budget and preference.

The benefit of the train in Paris is it’s a 10 minute ride instead of an hour long drive, even with the transfer it’s a huge time saver, I think the same would be true in Orlando with how bad the traffic often is.

Honestly the bus was free and worked well for us, but the game changer is the checked luggage. I would pay a premium to have my bags magically appear in my room, and then be able to check them at the resort before flying out of MCO

There is no “Disney bubble” anymore. They admitted as such when they got rid of DME.

I put far more value on flexibility and freedom than a now-dead “bubble”.

sure there is - being on property, not having the drive, all the resorts with theming and run by cast members - feels very insulated vs being off property

Maybe you don't feel that way but I think many would disagree ... what I think Disney feels by taking away MDE is that people don't require that extra cost from them to pay to be within the bubble

If they do something with the bags like in the past then that would be totally different and, for me, put the train option more in play
