Thanks!!! Looks great! It's Disney, Isn't it? I'd love to be able to buy a Vogon Ship at MGM.
I'd never actually clocked that. The official site now has the Touchstone logo on it.

Was that officially released, or is it a bootleg? It's probably been 20 years since I've seen it. I'd love to get a copy.

I heard Alan Rickman (sp?) was doing the voice of Marvin, but I didn't hear him in the trailer (unless I missed it). He should be great in that role.

Me too, along with the CD's of the BBC radio shows and the book of the sript of the radio shows.

I am a little concerned about departure from the text. Oh well.

I wonder what Dougles Adams would think of the whole thing. At least they have the technolgoy to do it good this time.

It is one of the few movies that I will know if they did it different then the books.

Actually looks pretty good. I was wondering what they'd do about zaphod's 2 heads. They appear to have just ignored this fact.

At least it'll look better than in the BBC version, the dummy head in that was laughable.

From what I have read, Douglas Adams had written the first script with lots of new material, the film is based on this treatment. So I hope he would like it.

Watch the clip again - the head is there, but only for a few frames.

In order to keep the special effects budget low, they only have Zaphod's second head appear once in a while.

I'm really excited, as I do enjoy Adam's humor. It's a wry, subtle--"british"--brand of humour. I hope that carries over well on to the screen.:)

What is the point of that? And how do they explain it. That would be really werid, headachy actually to keep it stright.

Besides I thought the point was they actually had the budget and effect to be able to do it finally, not like in 1980's. (or was it 70's either way I was a kid). :lookaroun

I don't remember Ford being Black either. :animwink:
Arthur looks just like I would imagine him though.

I like who they got to be Ford in this version. It adds a certain level of cool, IMO.

He doesn't have a strong enought British acent IMO. HHGG just is not right with out it. (Some humor does not carry over the pond. Case in point, did you ever see the amercian verson of Coupling? I hated it. BBC show is the best!) Can you imagine Monty Python with no accents? I think not!

BTW I have had my BBC Show DVD for 2 years now I think (Christmas present from a friend.)
