New Toy Story 3 Game in Toy Story Midway Mania...Mania Midway...Toy Mania...Whatever.

I like TSM better at DCA because they have a singles line still. No fastpass, just single line, and it helps drastically for people who are competitive midway maniacs. If WDW were to get rid of fastpass at TSM, they sure as hell better bring back that singles line.

I didn't see if anyone else caught this, but it appears that Rex will no longer be a cohost for the Hamm and Eggs game, he will be replaced by Buttercup the Unicorn from Toy Story 3.

Personally I see no reason for Disney to even consider getting rid of fastpasses for TSMM, but maybe I am missing something. I do agree with comments suggesting that once Star Tours 2.0 opens up, presumably with fastpasses being distributed, that it will relieve some of the push for fp's for TSMM. As for offering fp's for the Great Movie Ride, I can't imagine that would be effective at all, would there really be that many people looking for a fastpass to that? I am not trying to start an argument here as I know there are plenty of people here that really like the ride, but personally I have never seen any real lines for and have just walked on the couple of times I rode it...but maybe I just got lucky???

Another note about the Toy Story Mania changes from stitchkingdom.com

In the prize scene, Trixie, Buttercup, Dolly (a doll), Mr. Pricklepants (a lederhosen-clad hedgehog) and one other surprise – all from “Toy Story 3” – will appear with Woody and Jessie.

I think this is a big win for everyone. The ride has only been open two years and they are already adding something new. This bodes well for future additions and will attract even more people to an already popular attraction.

I would hope that WDI kept a setup somewhere where they could do most of the testing and debugging offsite. And if the software was written intelligently, they should be able to load the new game to test in 3rd shift, and switch back to the existing game for first shift until its ready. Which would hopefully lead to minimal downtime.

Is it closing or is this something that will be done 3rd shift?

I initially thought it would be a replacement that could be done quickly due to the ride's technology, but weren't there rumors of the ride closing down on early May for Toy Story 3 additions?! :veryconfu

I wonder what this means for the rumored August refurb?:veryconfu

I would assume if they are updating the games to feature the new characters that the August refurb will be to make some changes inside the attraction to highlight some of the new characters and destinations on the stuff that you whiz by in your vehicle.

I lost the link, but I had heard in the imagineer forums that since it was a computer program change, that it would basically just appear over night. Just like your favorite website changes from time to time. Apply the updates, and reboot. Presto, new ride.

^This. The rehab (if it ever happens) will be about something else entirely that is very mundane.
