New Tot in Paris / Opening Footage

The projection system is nice and it does look like they put work into that opening, but as a whole I thought it was quite crappy. 99% of the scenes were chaotic and had absolutely nothing to do with the attraction, there was no order or story....
On the contrary - see my video at MouseBits, and soon to stream at towerofterror.org for the full show :D

The projections were amazing - custom made to fit the 2 sides of the building perfectly (for example each letter on the neon sign became white, the facade windows lit up and curtains drew across them)

The story was very clear watching the show in the park - all wrapped up, wrapping paper ripped off, the paper fell off to reveal the 1939 hotel. Guests on the hotel, the band on the hotel, the storm sequence, the boiler room pipes growing and consuming the building - if it wern`t for the facade details being visible in the light the entire show could have been being projected onto a cinema screen it was that clear. The NEW Hollywood Tower Hotel was so sinister, with plenty of details from the boiler room.

The bellhop is almost the icon of the Tower in the European marketing scheme, and has been for over a year. Yes, he is different to the preshow (US) hop but this one - and similar - is on all the TV commercials and adverts over here.

You know I call things in if they are lame, this certainly wasn't.

Geez..why all the magnificent effects? Its just another ToT!
Because this was the big launch for the press, who had been flown in from all over Europe. The park was closed. Big party. The tower is being billed as the saviour of the park, like Space Mountain was next door in 1995, and going by last weekends crowds it is working. The press now go home and write about how good Disney is, how good the show was, and how you have to visit DLRP to experience this attraction.

wow thers alot of negative stuff being written here. how many of you have been to disneyland paris?
the studios is in much need of new attractions, and these big budget ones are welcome, yes it maybe another copy, but if your not able to be near a US park, we over here in europe dont care! we just appriciate some money being spent on making this a great disney place. its shaping up to be a fantastic place already and having visited both paris and wdw, apart from the weather the magic kingdom is better than wdw, and the studios (not too hard to beat) is looking to go the same way.

one observation though, anyone notice how people WERENT interested in the stitch opening! wernt many watching, more trying to avoid it, why they keep on pushing stitch i dont know! perhaps they should try a mickey live, or here in europe winnie the pooh live, as he's huge here!

That is really cool vid. The projections are sweet. I would love to make a trip back there one day. Paris is such a great park.

Loved the opening, great effects, and everything. I know it wow'd me. But nothing is better than our own TOT in DHS, certainly better than the rest of the TOT's in the world. Not that the rest are bad or anything, it's just that TOT's has a much better full experience and ride show.

I was being sarcastic but...those are still some good points. :)
