My dad was thinking of making reservations for next years trip..and we wanted to try somewhere we haven't stayed before and my brother mentioned Wilderness. Everyone is pretty excited, but my dad who gets dizzy on boats, is worried about the boats. Any information on the boat ride to MK? I'd appreciate it, and thanks in advance! =D

Its a slow, smooth ride. I even get nauseous/ dizzy on boats that are docked, but that boat and the ones in Epcot are the only ones I can tolerate. The small launch to the Contemporary puts me on edge so I try not to use that one. If he is still worried about the boat he can take the bus, but the trip will be a lot longer as they stop at Fort Wilderness first.

They are very smooth, and plenty of seating. This is not your standard offshore fishing boat with four foot seas coming in on ya. I don't know the extent of your dad's condition, but try it out and if he absolutely can't stand it, then simply take a bus right to TTC, from there you will just take the monorail right in. Wilderness Lodge is an incredible place, if you haven't stayed there I HIGHLY recommend it. I will say that the boat trip is not a very quick trip to get to the MK, but again...it is very calm on Bay Lake and the 7 seas lagoon.

Love Love Love the WL. Looking forward to our 10 night stay in 37 days.

The boat ride should be fine. I also suffer from motion sickness at times. The one to MK should be no problem, occasionally, the smaller ones to Contem can be chopy.

February 2007 the bus took us straight to the MK....sometimes it was there and we were at the gates within 5 minutes and other times we waited about 15 minutes for the bus. On the return trip we sometimes stopped at the Wilderness Campground. I agree...the boat ride is very tame and relaxing!!:king:

They spin around in circles constantly the whole way between the WL and MK!!!!!........:zipit:

Honestly all the boats I've been on (any size) have always been pretty smooth. Buses are always an option though so don't worry.

Very strange. I was about to say "I love, love, love the Wilderness Lodge"! Great minds think alike?
