hi, I'm new to the group. We are a family of 6.
( my husband, myself, our 4 kids 11,10,8 & 6)
We head out to Disneyworld in a few weeks and this will be our 4th year in a row but first time without a stroller. Husband and I have talked about bringing one for our 6 year old since we like to stay in parks all day but we decided we won't bring one. I'm excited and scared at the same time. We usually like to pack the bottom of the stroller with snacks and put other things we gain throughout the day in there. In the past usually by 9 pm atleast 1 of our kids was asleep in it for a quick nap. So my question is : since we love to stay in the parks from open to close does anyone have any ideas on how to make it through the day with 4 kiddos and no stroller for the first time. I usually bring a backpack. So I will have that. And I know of the train and some resting spots that I plan to use for us through the day. Again, I'm excited just a little nervous.
Also each year our kids earn spending money for the big trip to Disney ( doing extra chores). This is our first time staying at a Disney hotel. If they buy things is there a way to pick them up later, end of the day. Or have them sent to room? If not that's ok. Will just plan accordingly.
This will be our last trip for awhile so we are super excited to go and make the most of each moment. We will really miss it over the next 3-4 years. Thanks everyone for your help.

Actually, you have both options.

Anyone can use package pickup at the parks: buy something at a store and they can send your package to a pickup location near the park entrance. Additionally, since you are staying on site, you can take advantage of free hotel delivery. Just remember that delivery to your room may happen only on the next day, so it is not available on your checkout day or on the day before.

Just be aware of the new security measures and that it will take longer than you are used to to enter a park. Also the best way is to relax and take your time, use some of the places to sit etc get some shade and recharge. Also, since you are staying in a Disney resort this time it wouldn't be out of the question to take a mid-day break to go swimming etc in the afternoon. DBF and I do that as adults with no kids lol

Welcome to WDWMagic! A great source of information for all things Disney. And some of us are a tad bit crazy. But not me, of course. ;)

In addition to picking up any purchases at the front of the park before you leave or delivery to your resort (usually the resort gift shop), they will also ship your purchase to you, for a fee I am sure.

I'm mixed about the stroller. I'm sure your 6 year old will be fine without it, but having something convenient to store snacks, water bottles and other things like ponchos, sweaters/jackets for cooler weather is nice. I found that backpack was getting heavier and heavier as the day wore on. I've always felt for the poor dad going through bag check in the morning with a stuffed backpack on his back.

My thought, rent a locker at the park when you first enter... that way you have a place to store things like snacks, etc., and don't have to carry them around on your back all day long. The cost is $12 for the entire day and when you return the key at the end of the day, they refund you $5.
