New to planning

So husband and I have decided to finally got to Disney with my 8 y/o daughter in early June of next year for 9 days, not the best time I know but its all we have. Local schools will report parents to authorities if kids miss more than 5 days of school a year or we would go in May. Its also a delayed honeymoon/1st anniversary so we will be having a couple of date nights. We were looking into ADRs and my husband asked me if we had to have our vacation paid in full before the 180 day mark to get our reservation number. We had planned on my profit sharing check in March to pay the balance, obviously past the 180 day mark. Or is the initial deposit enough for the required number? I am supposed to put the deposit down this Friday and know the price may rise before final payment is made but, it's an accepted risk to get the place and dates we wanted.

Welcome aboard,

Congrats on your anniversary / honeymoon / first trip

You DO NOT need a Disney holiday / Resort reservation to book ADRs - anyone can book them at 180 days. You only require park admission if you're eating in the parks. If you have a Disney Resort reservation you can book all your 9 days worth of ADRs on the 180 day mark.

I am supposed to put the deposit down this Friday and know the price may rise before final payment is made but, it's an accepted risk to get the place and dates we wanted.
Surely if the deposit is paid then the only price that can alter is the tax on aviation fuel (at least thats the case in the UK) - it's part of a binding contract

Congrats on all of the fun "firsts"!!!! Welcome to the madness. Happy planning and have a magical trip!

If you don't get what you want at 180 days- don't worry too much. People overbook and hoard reservations- they cancel at all times, including close to travel date. I booked our last trip 65 days out and got everything that I wanted- I did have to be flexible with meal times though.
