I hope whatever show we get it's something which makes sense for all - too many greatest hits shows make no sense if you haven't seen the movie first.

On a related note I'd love to see a full theatre in Disney springs for proper broadway quality shows, Disney could use it for their touring shows or even other non Disney shows but I'm not sure how successful this would be.

Thats correct. Much higher chance of an entertainment CM being 'discovered' at DLR over WDW.

It's way more complex than that. Disney World is covered by actors equity, Disneyland is covered by a seperate theme park entertainers union.

Equity is more expensive (all performers on Broadway are equity performers) so most performers at disney are non-equity, but because of that, they are limited in what they can do.

In California, all of the entertainers are covered by the same agreement... So they are all able to do full dance choreagrophy, sing / speak on a mic, etc.

It's one of the reasons block party bash was extra expensive to run in Florida, all of the soldiers were equity since they were on a mic.

What do people feel is the maximum reasonable length for a show in a theme park?
If you're just asking to ask, I think 35-40 minutes would be long enough for a broadway style show without being too long that people with young kids would want to leave because the kids are bored/cranky

There's a myth going around that people don't like long rides... but it's not true, and this proves it.

One of the biggest problems with Ellen's and the GMR as they stand is that many guests don't find them engaging enough. The problem is in the ride, not the length.

These non-traveling theater shows at DCA are generally longer than the traveling theater rides... yet somehow, they're very popular.
Disney movies are usually around 90 minutes long... yet somehow, they're very popular.
I wish we could see a ride that's equally engaging over a long duration, and I have no doubt that it'd be successful.

I liked the Frozen show at DCA (I saw it like 12 days ago). Aladdin was better because there was more stuff moving. I like the Genie better as comedy than I do Olaf even though Olaf was hilarious. As long as the show is funny I'm good.

Having seen both the Aladdin and Frozen stage shows at DCA, I didn't feel either was too long. But those shows were great. Aladdin especially. As long as the quality is high, it can be an hour long show without issue.

Sorry I'm too lazy to read through this whole thread, but is there any rumor at all Aladdin might be considered for this theater since Frozen took its place in DCA? I absolutely loved Aladdin when I saw that 2 years ago. Plus it was my favorite movie growing up. That would honestly be a dream haha!

No, it won't be Aladdin because of the Broadway production.
