1. Victoria & Albert's won't participate in the program starting August 1, 2014.

2. Beginning August 1, 2014, the following restaurants have new blackout dates of November 23-29, 2014; December 21-27, 2014; March 8-April 4, 2015; May 31-June 20, 2015: 1900 Park Fare, Chef Mickey’s, ‘Ohana (Dinner Only), Cinderella’s Royal Table, Akershus Royal Banquet Hall, and Le Cellier Steakhouse. These are in addition to the already existing blackout dates: Mother’s Day, Easter Sunday, Independence Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.

This is a little crappy. They raised the price of the card this year by $25, are adding more blackout dates and are taking away V&A's? I like it better than the dining plan, but still...not cool Disney, not cool.

Disney keeps taking away!! I'm really getting tired of this.
Most who have a TIW cards visit WDW multiple times a year. You would think they want to keep us happy.

the principle of economics is to charge what the market will bear. meaning, you need to find the maximum price that you can charge without losing enough customers to decrease your profits.
if less people buy the TiW card, and they begin to lose money on the sale of it, and also see a drop in the number of reservations made..........perhaps they will put it together and add back the same value. meaning either a lower price (which will never happen) or return restaurants to it.
but sadly, I fear, they will get away with it, because restaurants will continue to be at capacity, people will continue to buy the card, and we get less of a sweet deal.
i really am not sure I will purchase my next one, not sure it continues to save me money. which means more meals at QS restaurants and in our room, so lessTS. makes me sad.

Sandy and I have a TIW...

In the V&A case? This actually makes perfect sense to me. Even at the current 10% reduction, the math says that Disney has to pay V&A the following...

When did V&A go down to 10%? The website still indicates 20%, just with the 20% gratuity instead of the 18% at other locations.

When we did V&A we recouped half the cost in that one meal.

I don't see huge issues if they just expanded the current blackout dates a day or two in either direction, but taking out all of March and most of June? I'm really starting to wonder about the WDW mgmt... (In case their other recent questionable decisions weren't enough)

From the beginning I've been surprised that V&A has been part of Tables in Wonderland, so I'm not too surprised to see them go. Having said that I am glad that we'll visit before the discount disappears. :)

The blackout dates annoy me and have from the beginning. I mean, I knew about them before purchasing the card but it still stinks, especially after they raised the price of the card this year. Expanding them sort of rubs salt in the wound.

I guess I can complain all I want, but for now it's still a good deal for us and we do still prefer it over the using the dining plan. This is the second year we've had the card and both times we've crunched the numbers and really thought it through before buying...this will just give us more to think about I guess.

Not sure if we will be dining there during those times, but several of those places are ones we like to eat at during our trips. that really stinks for people who can only travel during the school vacations (Thanksgiving, Christmas, Spring Break, etc..) and have these blackout dates. Just like Disney though to keep raising the prices and taking stuff away from us. We've already decided after our November trip we are done for awhile with WDW. We will be taking a Disney cruise in the spring and visiting Disneyland next fall. I understand it's all the same company but WDW itself, whenever it seems to be making progress forward (FLE, Disney Springs..) it takes several huge steps back (increased ticket prices, decreased EEMH, increased hotel prices, increased TIW prices and more blackout dates, etc..)

From Urban Dictionary:

Nerf (v): To diminish the power or effectiveness of; to make less potent.

Originally, this was a product line of foam based toys for children. It was adopted by the online gaming community to refer to the reduction in power of a game feature for the sake of balance. This term is now seeing more widespread generic usage, usually in reference to mechanical devices, or personal powers within a business framework.

Another devalued program. We will not renew. They will receive a letter from me that will get me a Jay Carney spin letter in return. At least the response will amuse me.

The more they raise the price of it the less it's worth it. I've had it since the start when it was only $50 or 60 and ate more in the parks. I don't know when they blacked out the Holidays. We went to use it on Mothers day this year and said it couldn't be used at breakfast. So I canx my dinner res at Ohana for that night. (went later in the week) $100 now not as much of a deal anymore, and I'm tired of having to plan everything so far out. Easyier and cheaper to just eat off property.

I'll be at V&A in November 2013, and then will have a large gathering in the parks in late June 2014. This may be the last time for me that a TIW card pays for itself.

Disney loves to see how much they can raise prices while cutting back before they lose money and customers, lol.

I do not understand anyone but an accountant thinking that losing money and customers is a good end game, but it seems the accountants are winning at WDW.
