new Star Wars-motion sickness

Do they have an area where you can sit on Star Tours and not be in the motion simulator? I thought I read that somewhere and just wanted to double check.

I'm not sure they still do this, but I believe if they are not too busy they will set one for you without the motion. I've wanted to do that myself, but I've not been yet when the crowds are light enough to even bother asking.

They ought to offer this as a standard service!

With six simulators, they should have one do 'stationary' runs every second or third trip, depending on demand. There are so many people in DHS who can't ride a simulator! And even more, who don't go to Disney at all because there are too little offerings for them!

Didn't bother me in the least, and I USED to get bothered by the original.

Completely agreed. It never did me in like Body Wars, but the original Star Tours could hit me funny if I sat in the wrong section.

The new one I can sit anywhere and never even had a whiff of any type of tummy rumble.

Remember, the original was programmed by joystick by hand - whereas the new ride was done digitally, so it matches the film exactly. No matter how good the hand is, there will still be some slight differences that our senses can see.

In fact, I really haven't heard of anyone not feeling well after the ride - unless they just scarffed too much junk food and even sitting on a bench would have done them in, LOL.

I completely agree! And I'd be more than happy to wait an extra 10 min or so, so they can gather enough people if that's what it takes.

I went on the original ST and both me and my friend got so sick that I never went on it again.

The new ST I have no problems with at all. I've ridden it several times and never have gotten sick.
