New Star Tours Destinations in 2015

I think they should change tactics and instead using a "movie" paradigm they should shift to a First Person Shooter game paradigm. Establish locations, sprinkle in additional visuals including battles, and let the AI battle it out in a 3D world while the tour flies through it all. Establish a 24hr window after which the game resets and the likelihood of anyone repeating an adventure is 1,000,000:1. Then EVERY experience would be unique. And they could go further by staging events for certain times of the day to attract more people (Death Star attack @ 3pm, Battle of Hoth at 4pm, Coruscant Takeover at 5pm, etc.). It would create a revival opportunity for the video game side too.

How about instead of 3d...

Imagine the mind bending of a VR tech onboard a real physical ride system.

Word at my Tatooine palace is that Episode VII will be titled 'The Phantom Log'.

So all park goes can help in cross theme the Tangled bathrooms with the Phantom Log.

Fascinating post. I think you touch upon a new generation of theme park experiences. Why have eight different films when you can have an infinite number, each one unique and adaptable?

Yellow plastic Buzz guns or interactive queues are for amateurs. Yours is where the real crossover between games and theme park rides is.

You'd think it's a good investment:

Lucasfilm brings in $850 million a year, including merchandising, ILM everything . . . and that probably works out to about $350 million in profits, after operating expenses. So, absent any new movies (and continuing licensing fees for characters), it would probably take Disney over a decade to profit off the deal if they don't make any new Star Wars films.

ILM works on A LOT more than just Star Wars, so there is ALWAYS money coming in. One of my friends who works there has worked on all of these for ILM, just to name a few:

Visual Effects (36 titles)
2013 Pacific Rim

2012 Paranormal Activity 4

2012 Battleship

2012 Red Tails

2011 Cowboys & Aliens

2010 Iron Man 2

2009 Avatar

2009 Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen

2009 Star Trek

2008 The Happening

2008 The Spiderwick Chronicles

2007 National Treasure: Book of Secrets

2007 Transformers

2006 Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest

2006 Mission: Impossible III

2005 Jarhead

2005 War of the Worlds

2005 Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith

2005 The Amityville Horror

2004 Hidalgo

2003 Timeline

2003 Tears of the Sun

2002 Signs

2002 Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones

2001 Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone

2001 Pearl Harbor

2000 The Adventures of Rocky & Bullwinkle

1999 Magnolia

I love the ride changing by schedule idea. Manage guest flow in the park not buy a piece of plastic on their wrists, but constantly changing (but not random) ride experiences.
