New speakers in Innoventions Plaza?

At Epcot yesterday I noticed the background music in the Innoventions Plaza area (and the area between the fountain and World Showcase) seemed not only louder than it had been, but also much clearer and crisper? Anybody know if Epcot has replaced the speakers in that area?

i heard a while ago the were going to be working on some new sound technology that would be similiar to a beam of light and could be focused on you. i bet its just new speakers you heard though.

Yup, if you go into the Showcase, you can see the new speakers that are covered by banners. The music is MUCH louder now! The speakers are really nice.

Yeah...I am a big fan of the background music, it adds that extra dimension and fills the missing link, creating a more immersive environment. I am glad they updated this technology!

If I've said it once, I've said it a thousand times...

Well, I actually take that back... I've never said anything, I've only written things here... Regardless:

The Innoventions Plaza loop adds such marvelous atmosphere to Epcot. It's perhaps the finest loop ever. It is very pleasant and jolly, but it has just the right tinge of optimism, with an eye on the future, to it. Fantastic!

It could be worse, you could work at Universal and have to listen to the same 4 Will Smith songs all-day every-day.

I had to hear the same music over and over and I learned to LOVE it. Makes me sentimental, really. :D

I am so glad there are knew speakers. When I hear that background music in Epcot, I finally realize I'm in Disney World. It adds so much to the park and I too think that it is one of the best soundtracks ever (along with RoE and Wishes). The music was always on the quite side (especially in the Plaza). I remember that at night, you could barely hear the drum beat of the old Tapestry parade. They really need to pump the music at night.

Are the knew speakers like the ones around WS lagoon (tall speakers with banners covering it)? Does anyone have any speakers (if they are out in the open)?

HaHa! I totally agree! Ever find yourself singing along with it (boo boo boo BOO boo boo boo boo boo BOO boo --yes, that's singing) and have a guest give you a weird look? I swear, the weirdest thing about reaclimating to the "outside" was the lack of background music!

HAHAHAHA... Try singing along to the Test Track queue medley... crashes and all! ;)

Gotta love the Innoventions Area Music Loop. Wonder if they still play the 52 minute version in the Art of Disney still. . .

Can't wait to hear the new sound. Thanks for the info, specky and Kelly.

Glad to hear the speakers were replaced. :sohappy: I too, enjoy the Innoventions loop music. Without the music, the park has a completely different feel. In fact when I hear the music, I automatically picture the fountain and the Innoventions Plaza.

The speakers make a wonderful effect for the Illumination pre-show. It's louder now, and if you didn't know, they changed the pre-music, it's this upbeat type music that sounds like it's from Australia. Illumination is also great, so much magic making.

While we're on the topic, I always love the Future World West area music mix. You can be on the way to the Land from Innoventions West and hear either the Innoventions Area Music loop, the fountain songs, OR the Land exterior music (which is pretty "cheesy," but one of my personal favorites).

What a nice park. :)

I agree with Nim

The Innoventions loop is one of the best in all WDW. It's not too long, and there aren't any dull moments in it at all. Not only that, but it fits the theme perfectly.

I heard about this. Although I'm incredibly sad about the old music gone (at least I have it on CD), I will give the new music a chance.

As for park loops, I feel bad for the CMs at Snow White's Scary Adventures (Step out to the left please, When the car stops step out to the left, Please step out to the left...) It must get annoying after a while (unless they can't hear it from their spot).

Audio that repeats like that will usually get annoying for your first week, then you just learn how to tune it out. (But it gets really noticeable late at night when there is no one around)

Thank god I have the full 52:39 long music on my computer and iPod!

There is something about hearing that music, and the dun-dun-dun-duuuunnn-dundundun and seeing the fountains and kentic sculptures when you go between both Innoventions!
