Disney will need to build big roller coasters to compete.

My idea would be a dual coaster going THROUGH Cinderella Castle. Thoughts?

Just glad Six Flags is doing well enough now to think about new parks :)

I know a lot of folks dislike them but I really like my local Six Flags in San Antonio :sohappy:

Well the location is about 1.5 hrs from WDW, so I don't see it as any more competition than Busch Gardens is to WDW.

Six Flags would NOT be competition for Disney.

If anything Six Flags would be riding Disney and USF's coattails, hoping to get a day visit out of the millions of area guests.

Agree on principal but if they run say a $45-$50 a day ticket they will draw some folks away from the more expensive UO and WDW IMO. It would provide a less expensive way for a family to spend a day in the area. I also think with the number of repeat visitors to the area each year some folks would welcome a day at a new park :)

I think the intention of a park here would be to draw families visiting relatives at The Villages which is just a few miles away. Think how many grandparents now have a place real close to take their grandkids while they visit.

Also, being right at the intersection of the Turnpike and I-75 would draw folks from Tampa, Orlando, and the north rather easily.

You'd think so, but the strategy hasn't really worked out for Wild Adventures in Valdosta.

Whatever happened to that "Orlando Thrill Park" I heard rumors about last year?

Hum, the cost of building a theme park from scratch. Don't see it happening.

Interesting location. If it happens I could see it possibly being a one day stop off for those coming to Orlando via I-75.

Fiesta Texas is one of the better ones. Was darned sure better than Astro World in Houston.

Astroworld did go downhill at the end :(

Back in it's day it was a pretty nice park, in the early 1980s :) Lots of good memories for me.

While it's not impossible, I'd consider this unlikely. A few years ago, the rumor had it in or near Brevard County where I live. Since it was my first encounter with the rumor, I got moderately excited (for years after we moved here the wife and I used to miss our times at Six Flags Great Adventure in NJ), before learning that this is evidently a perennial but unfounded rumor that keeps surfacing.

Unless you know more than you've let on...
