New Seven Seas Lagoon Resort

I don’t understand why BLT takes so much heat. I find it to be a welcome complement to the existing resort.

As for any new resort around the SSL - why? And what theme?

I think bay lake might be the most underwhelming dvc ever...not including Saratoga - of course.

This new bon bini no theme place might give it a run though

If they were to build a new - where is the need and what are the goals?

It would have to be mostly if not all dvc. They don’t have the need for high end rack - as evidenced by 10+ Years of obvious conversions

Architecturally, BLT is at best bland and uninspired for the location and at worst drags down the statement the Contemporary tower makes on its own.

I’m not sure what should go on SSL, but the classic Venetian / Asian etc designs never really did it for me and I understand why they were left on the cutting room floor. It should be something inspired and unique, which means it will never happen.

Is this new parking lot just for TRON? That looks like the area of the old Persian resort.

In the Parks
Yes
The stupid circular shape makes the rooms awkward and sucky too

Not to mention that the core amenities of the resort were not expanded when they replaced the 250 standard rooms of the North wing with 428 of the towers. If you're going to walk to MouseKingdom and eat in your room or the park not that much of an inconvenience, but if you want to go anywhere via monorail you're in the same boat as those who pay GF prices just to be greeted with full cars.

IMHO, DVC components often pale in comparison to their companion resorts. Without giving it much thought, Grand Floridian and AKL come to mind.

Just for fun, from Disney's original expansion packet issued in the 90s:

Disney's Mediterranean Resort: Long visualized as new jewel in the crown of resorts surrounding Seven Seas Lagoon, Disney's Mediterranean Resort will occupy a prime location on the monorail line between Disney's Contemporary Resort and the Transportation and Ticket Center. It's 1,000 deluxe rooms and suites will capture the romance of the sunny resorts of the Greek Islands. It will also provide a luxurious new convention facility with more than 65,000 square feet of meeting space and outstanding recreational facilities including a marina.

90’s??

They may have dusted it off...but the concept is quite a bit older
