Sounds like the fallout from the Fantasyland expansion announcement is beginning, with WDW recognizing it's going to have to work extra hard to entice people to come before most or all of New Fantasyland is open. This bodes well for those hoping for even better room discounts and/or free dining to be extended through the rest of the fall.

Actually, I think this is more normal after-summer promotions. (September is low attendance every year.)

I don't think most of the world even knows Fantasyland is being renovated. We geeks do, but most of the world does not. Most of the world makes their vacation plans based on whether they can afford it this year, and if they are out of school, and whether "my kids are the right age to really enjoy Disney"... as much as we geeks might disagree.

And especially for September (when school is just starting) most potential customers for a vacation, which would be adults, could not care less about Fantasyland in particular....

I do tend to forget that the entire world's gaze is not, like mine, fixed intently upon New Fantasyland and obsessing over the details of an upcoming trip to see Mickey. How sad it must be for all those normal people out there... ;)

I just wanted to say thank you!! I was originally booked with free dining, repriced with the room offer and we are saving $320!

Back in the early part of the 00's, my family would go every september and take advantage of the free dining. My son wasn't in school yet so it was a no-brainer offer. But now that he's in 2nd grade, we aren't going during this time. But I had a question, a few years ago we went during christmas because the free dining was extended for the rest of the year. Does anyone know, or guess, that they may offer free dining after the end of September?

Any idea when a Florida resident room only rate will be posted for this time frame? Or does it look like they will be dropping that offer (which I usually take advantage of around this time)?

No idea. I would grab this offer and then re-book if a Fl resident offer comes out and is a better deal. As of late there has been little difference in the discount of an AP, GP or Fl resident promotion.

Last week in Sept 2011 was so insanely crowded that this year I will be switching to October.

PS How about all of these "crowd experts" stop telling everyone to go in September.

Finally someone tells it like it is - totally agree with everything!!

I haven't read the whole thread but I'm assuming someone is trying to insist that September is not a slow month (even though we have been 4 years in a row at this time and practically walked onto many attractions).

So excited that I was able to switch from a standard room at POFQ to a Royal Room garden view at POR saving $229 with this offer!! The rooms look gorgeous and eventhough I don't spend much time there, it will still be awesome to have stayed in one for less than a standard room at FQ!!! :D
