New Resort

I saw a billboard for and a bus driver mentioned a new DVC resort under construction. Anyone know the name and theme?

Saratoga Springs is open, but Phase III of the resort is still under construction.

After Saratoga is done, there are rumors about a DVC resort at the Contemporary (probably not going to happen) or building the pre 9/11 announced Golf Resort at Osprey Ridge/Eagle Pines.

I was given the story about DVC expansion coming via wings at existing resorts, Contemp and AKL being the prime locations mentioned. When this was discussed on here previously someone explained that this is considerably cheaper to build and operate rather than add a new location.

That's right and the reason why the DVC Golf Resort was scrapped after 9/11/01. DVC would have to build the Golf Resort from scratch, where as SSR had the old Disney Institute infrastructure to build on.

I always wanted to check out the Disney Institute, but alas by the time I got around to it - there it was gone!

I'm curious - how much of the infrastructure were they able to save?

The Spa, the building where you check in, and the theatre.

Went to DI years ago and it was great. Sorry to see it go.

Yes, and they are all false.

But seriously, there is a billboard at the corner of the Epcot Cast parking lot that faces Buena Vista Drive that has the DVC logo and "Coming Soon" on it. It's across from Bonnet Creek, I believe.

I'd imagine that it makes alot more sense to use land for a time share resort than to store cars for free.
