Has anyone else seen the new WDW TV commercial aimed at getting people to stay at the resorts so they can take advantage of Extra Magic Hour? My question is this: In the commercial the family is staying in what appears to be two rooms and the walls in each room are painted with huge murals of Disney Characters. Do any of the resorts really have rooms like that? I didn't think that any do, but I've only stayed in a handful of the resorts, so I was just wondering if they were real resort rooms or a set made specifically for the commercial. Anyone know?

Thanks!

Could it possibly be one of the new Saratoga rooms that aren't open yet? They have balconies, but of course you can't stay there for the $55 as it is a deluxe/home away from home resort. Not sure since it doesn't seem to be any of the other resorts. I too haven't seen this commercial yet but I'm really interested in seeing it now!

Someone mentioned that you could see the castle in the background of the room with the mural on the walls? I missed the beginning of the commerical, but when I saw the mural on the wall I just assumed it was a Disney cruise cabin. I saw there was some kind of balcony so I assumed it was the ship. I didn't see the castle though. I'm curious now and will be watching out for it again.

Well, I'm glad that I'm not the only one who was wondering about this.

I figured that it was most likely a set, but wasn't really sure.

As to being able to see the castle out the balcony window. If you believe the commercials ALL rooms at Disney have a window facing the castle, and it's a very close up view, too. I knew they inserted the castle into balcony shots, already, but in the past they've always appeared to be actual rooms at identifiable resorts. (Usually the Contemporary or the Grand Floridian). This time, I was just stumped by the murals.

All of us Disney freaks wondering the same thing.........
I thought the "murals" were head boards & I knew I had never seen them in any room I've stayed in & yes, I think the exterior shots are All Star Music because of the big marracas on the building by the pool.
What a mystery....I'll have to watch closer next time to see the "view" of Cinderella's castle.

I actually didn't notice the castle. Never have. I just realized the room wasn't a real room in any WDW resort. That's really bo-bo they insert a castle view. How misleading! If this magical room did exist, where would it be located, (considering the perspective of the castle)? Maybe the top floors of the Main Street, U.S.A. buildings will be turned into the latest DVC property.

I was joking, but I think that's the next step for WDW: cramming lodging as close to the action as possible and charging a premeium a la the Grand Californian. They already have a good share of stand-alone resorts. They probably wouldn't be able to do it at MK or EPCOT, but I could totally see a hotel inside or close to AK or MGM, like an Everest camp or a Hollywood-themed hotel on Sunset.

Isn't the AKL really close to AK if I'm not mistaken? As it is right now, the "area" hotels, such as the Epcot hotels, MK hotels, etc....you can usually see the park icon from those resorts. I think that's close enough right now. I don't think they would get anything closer to the parks as I wouldn't want it to be the next DL with everything jam packed next to each other. FL has the size, why make everything right next to the parks?

Caught it on Tivo

The castle is in the background. It looks like the room would be in the Main Street Train Station. Did anyone notice the lamp on the night stand between the 2 beds? I want one!
Update - I just called CRO and booked the room for free. It seems it is a hidden resort with only 1 room and it is never full since no one knew about it before the commercial. :p

What if I were to call WDW reservations and request the exact room shown in the commercial?! I wonder what they would say. I have never even seen any kind of room like that anywhere in WDW. So it does actually exist?
BTW: The lamps are also in the Grand Floridian rooms and if I'm correct there is an option to purchase them. I can't remember the price.

Whoa. Good idea. I'm totally going to do this. I'll post a full report later this afternoon. Maybe if enough of us call and request the room from the commerical, they'll actually build one!

I have only seen this commercial once, and was not taping it at the time...but my husbands remark was that it sounded like they were implying the parks are open early 1 hour for resort guests, but doesn't clarify that only one is open early at a time...did anyone catch if there was fine print for that as well? It did seem misleading...and I too noticed the mural and wondered what resort that was from. I'd love to stay there for $55 a night!!

Dude, I totally forgot to post Disney's evasive reply.

"Thank you for contacting the Walt Disney World® Resort.

The room in the commercial is only a representation of our Disney themed rooms and the external view
is of Disney's All Star Music Resort. All of our resorts provide a magical Disney experience with
various amenities and themes catered to each resort guest.

If you have questions or need further assistance, feel free to contact us.

Please include your full name, E-Mail address, and reservation number if applicable on all correspondence."

 So they totally lied. Am I reading that right? That is such a bunch of pooh. They think that room is a representation...it's a exaggeration!
