Compared to all the deluxe-DVC hybrids that came before (including some with fitness rooms in the DVC wing), it’s a seemingly small deviation that demonstrates some real contempt for the non-villa guests.
Which is absolutely ridiculous when you think about it since people staying in deluxes are paying a super pretty overinflated penny

With all the heavy lifting being done by the Poly Tower defenders maybe they figured a lot of its fans will need to use the gym to keep up their gains on vacation

Thankfully, the new Poly tower is like 150 feet from the Grand gym…that’s not even a full warm-up.

It did suck while the path was gone, you had to take the monorail to go the the gym. Somehow, that monorail ride always instead turned into a monorail ride to MK for a cinnamon roll.
I’m not thinking about the distance, have actually used the GF gym from a Poly studio (pre-Island Tower, so on the far side of the resort).

But the GF’s fitness room is kind of dinky in comparison. This looks so much nicer and could have been a cool consolation prize for the Poly overall.

I don't know how the Disney Magic Kingdom bus is in the mornings at Boardwalk to know...interesting
Every time we have stayed at Swan and Dolphin we have done this for both MK and AK days (walking over to boardwalk.) It has never been a problem either from an efficiency standpoint (getting our buts out of bed and getting their on time) or a capacity of the bus issue. On the way back from parks we will generally do either board walk or Yacht/Beach club if that bus comes first. Its a little longer walk from Y/B than Boardwalk but not bad.

Absolutely. Anyone staying at Poly should get to use this.

Just wait for someone to open the door and let you in if it’s actually locked, I guess.

I walked into this hotel yesterday as I walked back to TTC from Magic Kingdom. I don't know what I was expecting but it was underwhelming in general. I have always enjoyed the ambiance that the torches provided outside at the Polynesian. The outdoor lighting along the walking paths at this new place is rather terrible. It is harsh, cool white, LED lighting like you see on the front of the Monorail. They should have at least used a warmer LED tone. I am thankful that the walkway is back open so I can pass through this area again by foot.
