That is ironic actually lol, bet they claim it would be a safety concern or something
That’s why this entire argument is ridiculous. People are angry SOG guests can’t walk across the street and use Polynesian services and facilities anymore. When Polynesian guests never could do the same in reverse. And SOG guests actually are still more than welcome to visit the Polynesian via safe and appropriate means.

What actually can you not visit across the property anymore?

Ironically, the one place that all guests cannot visit is SOG.
Disney should demand equal access then they will consider the bridge!
Take a shot every time someone has used the term "riff-raff" in the thread. Time to get the holidays started!!!
I’m not going to lie, half the reasons I have continued to post is just be able to keep using the world riff raff lol

Yea you are right, that is ridiculous and I’m ashamed to have spent so much time defending SOG and wanting them to get a bridge.

This should be the default statement whenever the SOG walkway is discussed that the poly guests were unable to use it to get to SOG.

Thus the walk way actually does not promote the connectivity that I want at WDW

I’m more upset about the principle it sets. I’ve never stayed or used the SOG walkway. I just keep worrying WDW will continually bring less assessable
And yet they added a bridge that has to raise from GF to MK that is accessible from the ticket center and they redid the walk from Polynesian to GF. Got it, less accessible. Or did you actual mean you will not be able to assess Disney anymore because it’s a bad take.

I think you can stop worrying. Removing a crosswalk is not going to lead to less accessibility across the resort. As mentioned previously, with Uber/Lyft getting between resorts is easier than before. Plus the Skyliner makes getting between multiple resorts much easier. During our last stay at CBR we had a planned non park day to relax. After lunch we wanted to get some ice cream at Beaches & Cream. We hopped on the Skyliner and were there in a matter in minutes. Previously, that would have involved multiple busses and a far longer time. See, better accessibility.

Very true and SOG doesn’t really have a leg to stand on since they don’t allow non-guests.

Folks are saying that the Great Ceremonial House has been way overcrowded with people, including Captain Cooks, Pineapple Lanai, etc. I hope it's just the opening week boom, but the tower could put a big stress on these options w/o it's own quick service and shops. Not looking forward to the Trader Sam wait times.

Keep adding numbers, but maintaining the same transport output.
Polynesian proper was a mess Saturday night. We dined at Kona. The lobby was as crowded as Main Street. It was not enjoyable and I can see the new Tower guests overcrowding an already overcrowded venue!

Remember the monorail was built to service the Poly and Contemp, with a 3rd eventually planned with what became the Grand. Then they added villas at Contemp and Grand, bungalows, and now more villas at Poly. Transportation and crowds are insane.
