Honestly once it's done it'll look fine.
It'll definitely look better than it looks now, but if it looks like the "concept" art (and it will) I'm not sure I'd agree it'll look fine.

We know what it’s going to look like. Why don't we wait until it is done and actually has color and trees and plants and everything else around it before saying it is ugly
First mover advantage. Now just wait until the haters tell you about how they voted to stay there with their money, but it still sucks and nobody else should go.Why don't we wait until it is done and actually has color and trees and plants and everything else around it before saying it is ugly
I thought Barnum was the "There's A Sucker Born Every Minute" guy...Disney will put a few palm trees in-- some tropical plants and call it Polynesia
P.T.Barnum and Abraham Lincoln (add Disney) are both credited with having said some form of "You can fool all the people some of the time and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time."
I think he said that alsoI thought Barnum was the "There's A Sucker Born Every Minute" guy...

I LOVE! Shocked! White looks like Coconuts!!The bright white paint really looks Polynesian! I feel like I have been transported to Moorea! I am hoping this is just an undercoat...lol

I mean, it’s at least slightly more how it works than the people who periodically drop in to gripe about the current concrete “finishes” that aren’t finishes at all.
True, true. And you gotta admit, whatever the end up with will look at least decent. Disney does amazing work with facades.I mean, it’s at least slightly more how it works than the people who periodically drop in to gripe about the current concrete “finishes” that aren’t finishes at all.
Personally, I mostly reserve my outrage for things that deeply disturb the sense that everything is on stage. In that sense, the TRON and Cosmic Rewind show buildings, the Harmonious infrastructure, and some of the backstage views permitted by the skyliner bother(ed) me far more than what I'm seeing of this, even if there are things about it I would change and I personally preferred the peaceful passage alongside Luau Cove. Ultimately, this doesn't disturb views from the Grand Floridian much at all, and within the Polynesian, it's really only visible from the beach, where it joins the fabric of a skyline that already included the Grand. Again, it's not my favorite thing ever, but as far as visual intrusion goes, I actually find the Swan and Dolphin more annoying.Considering all of the other broken theming construction projects going on in the parks and the way most seem to feel about those, then shouldn't the same outrage be felt for the hotels?
Not necessarily. As with the case of the original Poly's reworked entrance, the final product may well look even worse than the art. Like the pattern they never properly added to the columns...We know what it’s going to look like.

It certainly won't look better than the art though, which is already hideous lol...
Not sure on quick service but I'd guess it's just the pool bar.I still want to know if they are going to add an extra quick service for the location.
In terms of transportation, this is going to suck. are they going to add bus stops or just tell people to walk to the Polynesian or grand Floridian monorail, bus stop, and ferry?
The eastern exit of the building is exactly where Aotearoa currently is. The walk to the Great Ceremonial House is a breeze. A dining location looks to be in the works on the first floor based on the plans, though the nature of it is unknown. Quick service seems like it would be a good idea to supplement the resort since Captain Cook's can be a madhouse at times. I honestly wish they'd offload Trader Sam's to the new building as a larger bar and then reclaim that space in the GCH.I still want to know if they are going to add an extra quick service for the location.

That is a really good idea! Trader Sam's can be designed as a larger bar but designed to still feel intimate...I know they are concerned about losing that feeling, but I have been to much larger bars that still play as intimate spaces...and they really need the capacity. I always wonder why when they planned for a Trader Sam's they didn't expand the space, and connect it better to the outdoor patio and really create a spectacular outdoor bar....so if you are stuck on a waiting list for hours, you still have more of an experience at the outer location...The eastern exit of the building is exactly where Aotearoa currently is. The art style is more realistic, part CGI from the looks of it (and touched up after). But that isn't relevant at all to my comment and still doesn't mean the final product will look 100% identical. It even says in the bottom right corner "Artist Rendering, Concept Only. Subject to Change".That is a more stylized and manipulated rendering.
