Well, I took it more as she used to work at a CM at pirates and is now designing/building something Pirate related that builds out the land

Seems pretty cool to me 🤷
I'd feel the exact same way. I was accepted into the College Program for the summer of... 2020. I don't think I need to say what ended up happening there, but by the time the college program was back, I was a few years out of college and was no longer eligible. The fact there's a nonzero chance I could've become an Imagineer if the pandemic didn't happen still haunts me to this day lol

Disney likes to way oversell the College Program and that they’re a place all about hiring from within. There’s plenty of people at Walt Disney Imagineering who didn’t do the College Program.

Carefully staged in an empty construction site.

Definitely authentic…

Note to the Social Media Comms team, make it a little more authentic by having the PPE look like it’s been at a construction site first, instead of fresh out of the box given to someone cast for the role.
She seems to be an imagineer helping to direct the project?? She's not a construction worker? What do you want her to do, start sanding wood and filling concrete with no construction experience? She's wearing PPE because she's still in an active construction zone man

For real? Next you're going to tell me the animals on the Jungle Cruise are real.

I'm sure she is a lovely fun person, just like the person who was cast for the Test Track Social Media piece, but this is all carefully choreographed and scripted PR. It lacks complete authenticity.

Ah yes…. Every kids dream is to help design more bars for the magic kingdom! Just like Walt wanted!

Hey, leave her alone, as she seems very happy to be involved in providing more reasons for drunken family brawls in MK…!!!!! 😁:hilarious:
Also, has anyone here heard if this bar…errr, lounge…will include a shootin’ arcade…?! 🤔:p🤣😉

And how would someone on the client/design side having roughed up PPE be more authentic?

If it did I would hope one of the games would be called free booter shooter. 😉

Oh 100%, it just seemed like an easy way to get in since you have an "in" with the company. But if that's not as common then I suppose it's no real loss haha

Disney likes the illusion that it’s an “in”. Like most jobs knowing someone is helpful and for some it is in an “in” because they end up meeting the right someone and developing a relationship. It is though a company, not a singular job, that does post jobs publicly and hire people from the outside. They also work with a variety of different companies who also hire people from the outside and would help on building relevant work experience.

So if it's a different room and not a redo on the original concept art (which, YAY!, because I think both look good) how big is this space because I thought this was gonna be a small room, and this seems like the size of maybe Docking Bay 7 would be my guest
Is this going to be like trader Sam’s or a full restaurant? Based on what you’re saying it’s too small for a full restaurant. Or will it be like the tequila area in Mexico ?

No no you don’t see the vision. The video would be real and authentic if she rolled around in a mud puddle 15 minutes before filming. As everyone knows, your PPE immediately soils when you enter a construction zone. This is literally more authentic because it’s what actually happened. She got onto the job site to record what she’s been doing for the project, did a few gestures like she was directing the construction (she technically was but not in this avenue), and then they edited it together and called it a day. She’s not out in the trenches and Disney has to sell you a story that she just got out of a war. She’s a regular non construction manager of the project in some capacity. Anything else would be like a store manger suiting up as a cashier for 5 seconds when corporate comes around

Anyone else expecting to see more done at this point? Of course this is the same company still building outdoor seating in Toy Story Land three years later!
