New park at WDW?

I am sure the following question has been talked about a lot, but it is a fun question (at least to me) to think about.

It seems to me that WDW has opened a new park roughly every 10 years. We are coming up on that mark very soon. So what will be the new WDW park to open? I have always loved the rumors of a villians park.

I haven't heard any recent rumors.

On a side note I dislike the villain park idea. I just don't like it. I mean, there's a line you need to draw. A spook themed park inevitably needs coasters, themed to various bad dudes. But is that really Disney's focus?

Not gonna happen anytime soon.

The plan for the next 10-15 years is to expand the offerings at the current parks rather than to build another park. It just doesn't make good business sense to build another park to draw guests and money away from the existing parks.

u kno wut i think is the villian land should be a new themed land at mk. it should be located just to the north of frontier land. and is should have a small ghost town and the carnival from pinnochio and of course bald mountain villian roller coaster. but thats just my idea

I would not open a park until all the current parks are brought to completion. Animal Kingdom is still half a park, at best (a fun half though), and Epcot needs more updating.

With that said, I have heard so many great things about it, I would like to see a version of Tokyo's Disney Sea down here. The idea of a Villains park has never interested me, because by necessity the villains are already an integral part of many attractions (Captain Hook is all over the Peter Pan ride, the Witch in Snow White, Ursula in Voyage of the Little Mermaid, etc., etc.). A villains park would just be over kill. A villains ride, however, would be cool, but that's a different thread.

Villians ride / land would be great!

I am quite happy to hear the current plans are to expand what excists already! Any word on a Magic Kingdom attraction? It's been years since the park has gotten a proper E-Ticket. For me that is much more important than any other expansion plans..

The problem I see with a Villains park is, while I would think it's cool, I am an adult male with no children. Yes, that park would appeal to me, and would bring me to it. But I am just one person, and Disney doesn't want to build an entire park based off of what I myself would want. Disney wants to bring families to the parks, and a Villains park just doesn't strike me as the type of place where I would want to bring my 5 year old daughter (If I had one) A Villain park would appeal to too specific a demographic, and thus would not be a good idea from a business standpoint. I would like to see an additional land added to the Magic Kingdom for Villains where you could have the largest roller coaster in WDW (A Bald Mountain theme would be awesome) and some smaller, Villain-themed attractions.

I personally think thay Villians doesn't even need a ride. Fantasmic is enough.

There wont be a park though for at least another decade. Every park needs to be fixed up before anything else happens.

I'm just wondering...to kinda add on to this post instead of starting entire new post on the same thing...forget about when it might or might not open cuz of cost but what ideas of theme parks you heard or theme parks you thought off would be the best for disney in the next 10, 20, 30, etc... years? I know we already discuss Villian and Thrill and stuff like that but whats something else or Why it would be good as a new theme park or theme for park? Cya

It would be a difficult thing to build a villian themed park or even a villian themed section of MK because the biggest villian of them all still works for the company. :lookaroun (I dont want to say any names, but his innitials are Michael Eisner) :lookaroun

I believe that a Villain Land in the Magic Kingdom would be a great expansion. I would have it to where you walk through a short tunnel to get to it. It would be dark and spooky. There would be Skull Rock, Bald Mountain(e-ticket), a dark-ride, Captain Hook's Pirate Ship Restaurant, etc.

I honestly think A Villian park would be Disney's answer to all the amusement parks, and their version of IOA... They can theme thrill rides to the villians. One thing I do not agree with that a prevoous poster stated, this park will attract an age group Disney seems to be not too popular with, TEENS.. Who do you think visits amusement parks?? Mostly teens.. peopel in their 20's and 30's.. A thrill park themed to the DIsney Villians would bring in a demagraphic that Disney currently does not appeal to much to, and that is TEENAGERS!!!!!
Think about it, a family goes to WDW. One of their kids is a 15 or 16 year old boy who thinks Disney is,not to offend anyone, gay.. He doesn't want to ride Snow White because it is childish and he isn't a child (what teenager does not think this?)... Well, now, there would be apark he can go to and have his thrills.. Disney can draw crowds that Six Flags and Busch Gardens draw, while competing more with Universal, and totally burying Universal into the ground.. I think the Imagineers would work mircles with a Villian themes coaster park.. Plus, this can tickle Disney's fancy with their sudden for thrill rides. They would have an entire park to add thrill rides to while putting in the classic type of rides MK, Epcot rightfully deserve.

Am I the only one who doesn't WANT a new park?

I can only afford to go to WDW for a week and between Magic Kingdom, Disney/MGM, Animal Kingdom, EPCOT, Downtown Disney, Pleasure Island, and two waterparks, my 7-Day Plate is pretty full! :(

Another park would just increase Admission, Annual Pass rates, and just generally put a bigger dent in my wallet. :p

Lets get all the rides and attractions in the current parks all working properly, filled up, and sponsored before we begin to think about opening a 5th Park.
I want to see The Wonders of Life pavillion up and running along with the other "Who-The-Heck-Knows-What-The-Status-Is-On-THIS Attraction" areas that sit empty or unsponsored all are open and functional.

Well actually, it would attract teens but nobody else. Disney can design attractions that appeal to everyone. Heck, I have seen teeny little kids sit next to grandparents on Mission Space. But that isn't the point.

The main point is that parks that are aimed towards the thrill seeker audience have been doing badly recently. IoA suffers from bad attendance as well as the 6-flags chain. (a lot of the parks were sold off this year to to lost money).

Cedar Fair and Disney are earning more money and profit because they resort to a certain quality in their parks. (Cedar Fair may mainly be thrill rides with no theming, but quality is still kept to a very high standard. Walt consulted Knotts when he was working on Disneyland so Disney owes it to Cedar Fair).

If a new park were to be built. I would like to see a new concept. Maybe a lost civilization park or the America park which has yet to be executed.

If a new park were to be built, it would need to continue on the overall theme's. You have the following:

Magic Kindom - Fantasy/Magic/Dream based
EPCOT - Science/community based
Animal Kingdom - Earth and animal based
Disney Studios - Movie/Hollywood based (hollywood = its own world)

So the next park would need to compliment the overall themes, i.e., not overlap. Sports has already been hit on with ESPN experience (or whatever its called), the water parks take care of water based thrills.

I dont know, what could be the driving theme? Maybe a park based on "extreme sports", rock climbing, endurance, etc....

This is just a thought, because I dont think WDW is ready for another park.
