New nighttime show at MK?

i wish they could have that beautiful nighttime show that DLP does with the fountains and all!

One theory on why they wouldn't do that at WDW is it helps keep all the other night-time shows different. Illuminations & Fantasmic use a lot of fountains, plus the new Rivers of Light at AK will too. Adding lasers and fountains at MK, in my opinion, means Illuminations is no longer as different.

Be careful what you wish for. Personally, I prefer to keep a show that still provides a decent view outside of Main Street and I would miss the high level pyro that would largely go away.

The story goes... The Paris nighttime show was actually designed and proposed for WDW...But TDO did not want to spend the money to improve the infrastructure for it....and it instead went to Paris...
Maybe they regret that and are finally going to do a similar show...we could only hope.

I definitely think Wishes' time has come. It's a good show but it's time for something new. I always really cringe at the schmaltzy kids choir that sings during the show. I also don't understand why Disney insists that all of its fireworks shows need to have dialogue. We don't need any voices saying "oooh, this is the scary villains part! Be afraid!" I'm pretty sure the visuals and the music can tell us that just the same.

I've always thought Wishes should have been replaced a good 5 years ago. The Summer Nightastic fireworks (essentially the old Pirate/Princess party pyro) showed how out of date and "weak" Wishes was and still is.

Whatever the new show becomes, can it at least utilize the castle projectors properly? Still can't believe that 4 or 5 years after being installed, projections STILL have yet to be integrated into any of the MK fireworks shows. That's just sheer laziness/cheapness on Disney's part.

Agreed in full, though it's not cheapness... it's capacity. Disney wants people in the Hub during all parts of the night because the park is too crowded.

So, cheap and lazy in the way of not expanding capacity, but it has a reason for guest ops.

No reason the projection show couldn't still run. Im talking about using the projectors for something like the stars of the Sorcerer's Hat, or the mirror during the villains section - use the clear, full color projectors instead of the fuzzy, dim gobo projections.

It would also allow for better effects to be added, like projecting lightning bolts for the "thunderbolt" sequence rather then using the barely noticeable strobes.

Gobos were very popular in 2003. I'm sure any new show would use the park's new projection system.

Ahh, gotcha. Yes, that would be preferable.

Also preferable, using actual projections in Wishes and not running Celebrate the Annoyance 348957 times a night.
