Are they the same size as the old ones? I'm assuming so by the looks of the pictures.

I read on one of those links here that folk think they're taller than the last set. Theory is that it's to prevent folk from putting them in the microwave and having that chip spark up. I don't think height would stop folk from doing something (dumb) they're planning on doing anyway :)

While on the topic of microwaving these... do we have an EE or physicists here in the room? Can someone explain to me why these would spark and it's perfectly fine for frozen food manufacturers (Don't judge me, LOL) to give us something lined in foil and tell us to microwave it, as long as the package remains closed?

You didn't go?
No, I don't run even if someone is chasing me with a stick, and in my case it would have to be a big ole stick.
Actually, it is a girl's trip that has become an annual thing and the group of friends go for the Princess HM every year, for several years now. They have a good time and don't need this ole fogey in the way of their girl talk, bonding and fun. I cheer them on in spirit from a distance.

Different materials. If I recall correctly, alot of the frozen food packaging is just heat reflective, and not truly metal. May just be reflective mylar or similar, while the RFID chip does usually contain real metal in the form of contacts/wiring.
