New Monorails for Disney

The look of the mark 7's is far superior to the Mark 6's...but as said earlier, as much as I like them, they just wouldn't fit in WDW.

Monorail

The monorail is still a "hoot" for my family. Disney constantly cleans and carpets these transportation wonders. With the amount of traffic these monorails transport yearly, maintenance is quite good. :sohappy:

Sorry wishful thinking! I (obviously) ment TTC not TTA--I guess I'm still in a Disney Fog!

And I believe it was monorail Lime that was going to Epcot, but I could be wrong. It was the most humorous trip on the monorail I have ever had. The maintenence man who's job was to hold the door shut was just going off on everything (in a funny, Disney-safe way). We were laughing the whole trip----definately one of the best trips on there ever!

That's funny, because the other really wonderful door problem I was thinking about came from monorail green. Strange! Our greens aren't very healthy it would appear

I heard the new ones are to big for the tracks and can't make the turns?
Is this true?
THANKS!

As far as I've heard, no. They're doing just fine. A little low on head room (again...) but fine. (I've got a friend 7'1" and he hates taking those monorails.)

BTW, this is still my favorite use of the Mark 6:

Yeah, it's true. You think after all the time spent researching for this new monorail, they would have looked into everything. Here's a news article if you're interested.

It seems the new monorail Disneyland just received a few feeks ago is having its fair share of problems. For starters, it doesn't even fit on the beam. Apparently the clearance is too narrow for the monorail to make it past the first curve onto the mainline. Because of this, Disneyland is stuck with only one monorail for the busy summer months, meaning the monorail's usage will most likely be restricted to hotel guests.

What iDots !
It took WDW 3-4 years to get the Mark VI in full operation with an acceptable amount of problems.
What happened here is that the undercarriage was widened to include room for more equipment. There is debate as to whether the original MK-V frame was used or a new one was built. Either or, the train either has to be sent back or a team must fix the problem on-site.

I do love what they done with this monorail over at Disneyland (It's a Mark 5 though isn't it?)
It is the Mark V indeed.

That's probably the most adorable thing I've ever seen. (Okay, not really. But it ranks up pretty high.)

I'm liking the MKVIII. But I'm a little confused on a description I heard where the thing basically changes color when the light hits it. Sounds a wee bit odd.

Any chance that they are replacing the ones at WDW as well? They are in dire need as they smell of cow.[/quote]:ROFLOL::ROFLOL::ROFLOL::cry::cry::cry:
