"For those of you who cheered when we launched our new online dining reservation system for Walt Disney World Restaurants – more great news to share today. You can now check for table-service availability at nearby restaurants using the location-based services on your supported Android, Blackberry or iPhone device. And yes, it’s available now. Simply search “disneyworld.com/dining” from your supported browser, or visit http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/reservations/dining/m/ and choose to view “map view” of dining results.
“Near Me” searching is one of many features available at our mobile dining reservation site. In fact, mobile has many of the same features as the main reservation website, including:

  • Search by location
  • Search by cuisine/dining experience
  • Search results with 3 available times
  • Special requests selections
  • Guest information
Also, take note that reservation capabilities will be coming to Mobile Magic. Mobile Magic is our first official Disney Parks mobile application, and it’s currently available on a growing list of mobile devices. We’ve posted the latest list.

Looks quite useful, especially from a phone! The previous dining reservation system was a nightmare.


From the looks of those pictures it will show a few times, something of which is extremely convenient and was painful to not have on the previous website.

Ahh, I misread what was new, not the system but apparently the "near me" feature was the update.

Just loaded this on my HTC EVO and it is awsome. It is a great application although it just gives you bad news telling you their are no times available. Oh well at least i booked all my ADRs. Guess i will give it a shot in Novemeber when i go for a quick 3 day trip

I can't get this site to load on my Blackberry Bold, keep getting an error message. I hate BB browser. :mad:

I can see this app being extremely useful. What I would like to see next is an app telling me which counter service places currently have seating available. Nothing like getting to Cosmic Ray's, getting your food and not being able to find a table. I'm sure a lot of people would pick an eatery based on table availability.

For awhile they were doing the ting where the cast member were seating people at Ray's and at El Pirate, etc. It was actually really great, my family always got a table on our last trip. Are they still doing that, or just during the busy season?

As far as I know, they are still doing this during busy days/seasons; all other times it is self service seating. Since they've actually altered the entrance/exit points for restaurants, it would have been surprising if they gave up on it already. The other good thing about the system is that it keeps more CMs around to answer questions and hand-out menus, somethng that I think is particularly helpful.
