The one thing I would like to is fireworks in the shape of Mickey. They have them on the Wishes pin, and I have seen graphics of them in other places, but I have not seen them for real. Does anyone know if they have these at Disneyland? Also, the face in Wishes does not go off right. I dont know much about fireworks, but I am guessing it is pretty difficult to get effects like these to work perfectly. I am happy with Wishes just the way it is though!
Wishes does launch 3 fireworks meant to be Mickey, but wind plays a factor in it. Same thing for the Star and the Magic Mirror Face fireworks. They're launched right, but the wind has to be right for them to explode properly.

StitchCastle-Cinderellebration will have night shows and day shows, just like CSC did.

Which part of the show is it? I know the mirror and the stars dont work all the time, but I think they are great effects. Ive never seen the Mickey though.

Also, there are the heart fireworks at the end of the princess segment.

And coming to "Remember" in Disneyland... flower shaped fireworks and a smiley face firework. And a Death Star shaped firework.

Not to mention lasers in the castle blowing up Main Street and the Hub and 60 foot flames of doom exploding into the air.

I'd say "Remember" has "Wishes" beat. LOL

Yup..."Remember..." is all done to music from the attractions and uses sound effects from the rides (ie. the heart beat from HM, the voice of Mara from Indy and pilot from Star Tours). During the Indy segement supposedly 60 foot flames will shoot in the air. For PoC's segement the fireworks will reinact the ship battle from the ride with even the sound of the cannon balls dropping in the water. Tinker Bell also flys back and forth (and up and down) behind the castle and appears twice during the show.

At the recent cast event at Disneyland they showed concept art of it and some of the music. They played the beginning audio and it is the start from "Wishes" and then chaged to have Julie Andrews doing the voice over.

I think it is going to end up being my favorite firework show just cause of the use of attraction music.

PS - Side Note:I am off to WDW in less than 12 hours!!! :sohappy:

So does that mean Cinderellabration will be a nighttime only show? I've seen videos and the only real way the show would work would be if it were done at night....daytime shows would take away about 50% of the magic if not all of it.
Cinderellabration will for the most part be a daytime show. The pyro being shot can be seen during the day. There may be some night shows in the winter months and at the Halloween and Christmas events.

Wishes does not have a hidden Mickey set in the show. 3 shells breaking during the "When you wish" part are purely coincidental. The Mickey head done at Disneyland is done with 2 - 4" shells as the ears and 1 - 6" shell as the head. And they MUST be air launched. The reason is that so the height can be adjusted and be acurate everytime. A 4" shell fired with black powder lift obtains a height of 400 feet then bursts. A 6" goes 600 feet. Wishes doesn't use air launch so it is impossible to do this effect unless you want the ears on the bottom of the head. Disneyland is able to adjust the air launcher to shoot the 6" say to 600 feet and the 4" to 750 feet forming a perfect Mickey head. But like I said this can only be acomplished with air launch.

In my opinion, the best article on the net done on the subject would be this one:

http://www.magicalears.com/articles/Remember.php

And over at MiceChat, I believe someone posted the videos of the cast blast event, but I think they have since been taken down.

The video was on this post:
http://www.micechat.com/showthread.php?t=1480&page=4&pp=25

It may be on IRC by now...

Also, looks like the soundtrack is available to buy now at the Music Shop on Main Street in Disneyland Park.

Was there some pyro removed from the show? When the show first started there used to be a bunch of multi colored shells that would go off right above the castle towards the end. It was right at the "Make a Wish..." part. The last two times I watched the show these were missing. This used to be my favorite part of the show.

I watched a video of Wishes to see if I could find what you are talking about. I saw two possible locations.
1) During the last "When you wish upon a star..." part (right before that huge firework), there are three smaller versions that look tricircle but those also don't look like intentional mickeys.
2) On the first "Make a Wish!" 3 or 4 purple fireworks flash and also appear tricircle yet they too look unintentional. At Disney though, any tricircled object could very well be mickey.

NOW, from the tokyo disneyland website, the new cinderella show takes place at night. So if we are getting the same show, I believe Wishes will be replaced by Cinderellabration: Lights of Romance.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't MNSSHP have a Halloween version of Wishes with perimeter for the past two years?

It was a special show, but it was a re-done version of Fantasy in the Sky. It would start like the old show, but would be interrupted about halfway through by the villans.

I don't forsee Wishes going away. If anything, this is a stage show with a few small fireworks for effect in places. I'd still expect to see Wishes as a bonus to that...if nothing else just on the weekends. (However, that is purely speculation).

ACK! I looooooooove Wishes! They can't do away with it, any time soon! Someone mentioned that it was set for at least a five year run. . . how many years has it been running already? The first time I saw it was last summer. But it must not be going anywhere anytime soon, since it was mentioned in the reason for the castle-hub rehab. ("For better viewing of Wishes and Cinderellabration shows" or something to that effect).

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't MNSSHP have a Halloween version of Wishes with perimeter for the past two years? I could be wrong and maybe it wasn't Wishes, but just a special Halloween show. My first year at MNSSHP, 2003, was the first time I had ever seen the perimeter fireworks. With the Halloween themed colors and that together, I was majorly impressed! Also, last year at MVMCP, we saw Wishes with perimeter, but it didn't appear to have any special theming to do with holidays that was any different than usual. What's the deal with those? Will there be something different this year?

1) Wishes is not going anywhere
2) Cinderellabration is the same exact times as Cinderella's Surprise Celebration (morning, afternoon, night), just a different show, regardless of how they show it in Tokyo.

Quoting this because I don't think it can be said enough.

Those shells are not launched when the wind is blowing too hard....which is too bad. I realize it is for the safety of the people in the area.....but it is cool to see the shells explode right above the castle.

No...that is not correct. MNSSHP had its own show.....it was not Wishes or FitS. It is a getting a new show this year "Wicked Wishes" as boo52 posted earlier. I have never been a fan of the Halloween show....except the having the Witch fly from the castle.

MVMCP had the regular Wishes show, with perimeter at the end, and that is going away for a new "Winter Wishes" show.
