Hi!
This is my first post here!
We've visited Disney world twice and are hoping to visit again in September for my sons 16th birthday (his request!! He's hoping for some princess love! Lol)

Previously we've always stayed at the Caribbean beach resort. But with a teen and a 9 year old girl (one with aspergers, one PDD) it's just too cramped of quarters for one room. We've been looking at doing 2 moderate resort rooms because the 2 bedroom villas just seem a bit pricey. HOWEVER- I really like the treehouse villas!

Anyone have some reviews on the treehouse villas? And advice whether it would be worth the extra $$ for the extra space and perks of staying at Saratoga springs vs doing the 2 rooms at a moderate? We will be taking advantage of the free dining plan (not sure if that makes a difference).

Can someone tell me where I could post a question about dairy free dining options (I have a severe dairy allergy that developed as an adult- weird I know, and a major hassle!!) since I've always eaten regularly in the world and have no idea if restaurants can accommodate allergies?
And where can I ask for advice on making a 16 year old boys birthday extra special? There's plenty out there for girls lol! He's hoping to get a 'kiss' from each princess. (does that sound odd??? It's not meant to I swear!!)

Sorry for the long post! I'm just excited to see so many fans here, and know you all will have some great advice!

Consider the cabins at Fort Wilderness, they have more space than most rooms. I don't know your kids but many PDD/Asperger's kids need to "get away" sometimes, and they would be easier at FW as it is easier to find a quiet place.

If cost is an issue, we've done adjoining rooms at Pop which works out great--we each get a bed, and have 2 baths. We'd put the kids to sleep, close the adjoining room door halfway and enjoy some TV in silence! So close but yet so far! The only thing with the treehouses is the potential walk to your 'house' form the bus stop. I wouldn't let my kids wander in the woods without me, but I would allow them to walk a few feet to the main building at Pop for arcade games..

We're doing the ASMusic Family Suites this year. DD13, who has Asperger's, wanted her and her sister to have "their own room" at Disney. They'll get their room, and we'll have some extra space, where she can have her alone time, if necessary. The extra bathroom is also a big plus and the kitchenette is a bonus! Great for an Aspie to be able to have some b'fast or a snack in the room ;)

I agree the Cabins might be less expensive than the treehouses, have more than adequate space and there are many activities offered around Fort Wilderness for a family with children at any age.

For extra space we stayed at Old Key West. As for the allergies Disney is very accommodating with food. Make sure when you call to make reservations you let them know.

A friend of ours was getting two rooms and booked the Dolphin. She got two joining rooms for about $300/night

Have fun!
