I was booted from the DIS two & 1/2 years ago. My, how time flies.

Getting ready for my 17th vacation from Montana to Disney World and with things changing, I need a place to get answers.

Yes, I was part of the great purge.

At the time it didn't matter. Not much more to learn.

However, times they ARE a changin'. Time to bone up for the upcominmg trip.

I was booted from Mousegeeks 2 1/2 years ago because I "didn't meet their membership requirements", whatever that means.

Anyway, this is a great site for all things Disney. Have a wonderful vacation!

It's funny, that was my first forum, and I got bored with Baggalini and Crocs threads :lol: I ended up at another board that's mostly a DL crowd, and found it kind of weird and clique-y (again, to each his own). For me, WDWMagic is the right fit. Great information, nice people, and really interesting conversation.

I hadn't heard of this bangate/grand purge until this thread. Suffice to say, I've spent the last two hours reading about it. Makes me look at that site a little differently. I like a lot of the members on one of the subforums over there, but if even some of the allegations are true, I'm not sure I want to be posting on a site like that.

In any case, welcome! The crowd is generally down to earth here!

All I did was openly ask why they were banning people (bangate! LOL) for visiting another website (one called the UnDIS). Next thing I knew, I was on something called Global Ignore. I could log in and post, but nobody could "see" me.

I heard that happened to a lot of people. Then links from the UnDIS to the DIS were magically manipulated somehow....or so I've heard.

It was crazy for a couple weeks. At one point the DIS messed up and when you typed in their web address, it took you to the UnDIS. Everyone thought it was a hijack by the UnDis people but it was just a mistake by the Dis. 99% of the DIS membership didn't even know the UnDis existed until that day.
