New Magic Your Way ticket upgrade policy

From what I am hearing situations like this will be handled on a case by case basis. My thinking is that if it obviously legit they will allow it.

Excellent! That makes sense. Last time we were down there (Feb '11), we were stuck there due to those blizzards that were sweeping the US...what a great time/place to be stuck! :) We would get up, head to breakfast at Ol' Port Royale at CBR and add another day!

makes one wonder where the benefit is in having it at all if it's unreliable and has to be turned off at times.
You don't have to catch every single instance of "sharing". Just enough of them to be a deterrent.

Question. If I buy a 7 night Package that includes dining and an 8 day pass, and I only go to the parks for 4 days, on my last day, can I make the remaining 4 days non-expirational?

This would be the only way the dining package with tickets would work for myself and my daughter. I have room only right now with the discount, but I could change if I can save the extra days I don't need in the parks.

And, can I use my disney points to pay for a package?

Yes, but since it was an 8-day ticket, you will pay the price of adding non-expiration to an 8-day ticket, not a 4-day.

Why don't you just start with 4-day tickets?

Thanks. I figured I would have to do the 8 day price for non-expirational, just didn't know if I could do it as a package as I have never bought a package before.

I think I will start with the 4 day..thanks. I did the math, and the 8 day non-expirational doesn't save that month, although it is a hedge for price increases. IN the past we have had AP's and when we stopped going more than twice a year, I bought 10 day non-expirational hoppers which lasted about 3 trips. As my daughter is almost 24, I am not sure how much longer she will want to go with me (although it is my nickle, so I have never been refuse.). Great idea to get the 4, and then decide the last day if I should add more days and non-expirational for the future. Now, the next delema, do I make em hoopers? LOL (always have) Will figure that out when I get there in September.

Some people are speculating this change it to cut down on the illegal ticket resellers. Many of them apparently buy tickets that have no days left, and then upgrade them for cheap I.E. a 5 day to a 10 day for $42, and then selling it as a brand new 5 day for say $200. A price that no legitimate reseller can match.

Quite frankly anybody that goes to Orlando and thinks there's such a thing as a "discounted Disney ticket" and buys them from Billy-Bob's Hot Air Balloon Ticket Stand on 192 is getting exactly whats coming to them. It's common sense, and I know times are hard, but if you can't include gate price tickets in your budget you honestly have no business even going on vacation to Disney.

I disagree, its not common sense. Disney is a whole new beast compared to the parks that most people go to locally.

Of course, you are speaking of people who wear flip flops, or high heals to the parks.
