No silly. They won't be selling clothes. They will be selling Duffy bears:

Don't do that. I'm still scarred by some of the Duffy-related actions I saw at Tokyo DisneySea.

Japan is a giant sales pitch. It's primary attraction is a department store.

And you know, Japan does have a rich and interesting history and culture. It is kind of sad they can not do more with that pavilion.

As far the department store goes, to me it is incomplete until they offer Akira Kurosawa movies.

I completely agree. The architecture of that pavilion is amazing, and it's too bad it only contains a department store and 3 dining options... although, the dining options are top notch.

I'm surprised with myself a little in how I think that this could be a fun little addition to the pavilion. I'm not saying it's candy-art level good, but it does have a tie in to modern day Japanese culture, and I'm all for adding things to the pavilions that have tie-ins to the host-country itself and not generic Disney Parks characters or merchandise.
The entertainment they've recently added have all seemed to be well done, aside from one loud, chainsawing exception.
I'm waiting to really place my judgement depending on what these new entertainment folks will be doing, if it's some sort of show, or just streetmosphere-style interactions.

I don't know about the rest of you but I am UBER EXCITED about anything new coming to the Japan pavilion! To me, that pavilion receives the least amount of love (the original ride was scrapped, very rarely do we see any new additions, etc.) Sure, it's no Miyuki but I can't wait to see these new offerings in person. ANYTHING is a step above the lumberjacks...

Although I am bothered by the fact that the new-hires don't necessarily need to have a Japanese background. Kinda defeats the purpose of WS but as others have stated, unless your an ICP the "realism" doesn't apply apparently.

Which you could argue is the best in WS.

Yes..yes it is. Every time I enter that store I become a human ferret, darting around to all the different items on display.
