New idea for Test Track

I was thinking wouldn't it be cool to have Test Track spinning and turning in the air then land on it's four wheels... like in the movie The Fast and the Furious. That would be an awesome stunt sequence and a great thrill.:hammer:

If the safety features work as well as the ride itself...you may just see that happen some day :)

That would be cool but it would probably be a serious insurance hassle. HAHA. Just waiting for that first call - "We have a split forehead" or "broken tooth" after a rough landing at Test Track!

Yeah a looping coaster is big trouble....

But seriously, this wouldn't fit in with the theme of Test Track. They don't flip cars in the air during testing before the car is produced.

I agree. Test Track is perfectly themed. At least we don't think they flip cars during testing.

I would be a total reason to spend a little MORE on ABS brakes...
You could spin out of control and then do your flips...EASILY THEMED!

No, you really aren't supposed to, but does it matter?

And ... yes you could fit it into the ride. But the fact remains that Test Track is supposed to be what the cars go through during testing at the car plants. They do not flip them, therefore flipping them is not part of the theme.

I do agree with that except...it COULD flip DURING testing...

Look, how does Test Track BREAKING DOWN ALL THE TIME fit into the Theming??? lol :)

Yes but that just would not be safe.
By the way, Fossil. I doubt you are a fossil, a fossil is an inanimate object created millions of years ago and I also doubt that the oversized golf ball in your small picture is a fossil.
And for the record, purple dragons do not wear blue wizard hats with large ears attached.

sorry

But anyway, that would be pretty cool!

Oh yeah...sorry...the purple dragon with the sorceror hat must be a figment of your imagination...

I don't recall ever going down by the river and seeing a frog playing a banjo though...oh well, I'm sure it happens :)

Pumbas Nakasak

Heading for the great escape.
In car HIFI systems, with pounding bass.
Some one to wash youre screen at the lights.
Being pursued by Officer Diligent and his speed camera.
Getting a parking ticket.
Paint the cars white to make them feel more like rentals.
Getting the CMs to dress as test dummies.
Having an ejector seat so families can get rid of single riders.
One car in ten to have break failure
Run the cars into massive air bags while playing Aerosmith.

Let my wife drive.......
Now that is going to far!

Flipping aka Fast and the Furious might be a little too hard, but something like a flying car aka Back to the Future 2!
Of course that not's exactly readily available technology but probably safer and would be better for families overall (i.e. scare factor).

I am sure they are tested for sharp turns and to see how much it takes for a vehicle to flip over... especially an SUV. That would be awesome. Right after you come from outside, the car hits a bump and it's off to neverland...:hammer:

Test Track is a highly "smart" attraction. Its vehicles are very, very powerful. They test each and every car every day to make sure they are safe. The brakes are tested everyday as is each and every nut and bolt on the car. There have been several mishaps, but thats another story. Anyways, having Test Track do flips would be fun, but very costly on Disney's part which mostly will never happen.

Actually, most manufacturers DO flip cars on purpose, as part of rollover or impact testing. Granted, it's done completely different from the final stunt in FATF, but none of the tests in Test Track are completely accurate representations of the real-life inspiration. So, you could work it into the ride within the confines of the of premise, but...
Doing this sort of thing is technically impossible without having a rollercoaster-type track. Ride vehicles are NEVER designed to leave their tracks, and the cars at Test Track are pushed within to their limits as it is. Having them absorb the impact of that kind of landing even ONCE would easily destory one and probably injure the guests on board. You would need a complete re-design of the ride vehicles, the ride track, and many, many breakthroughs in ride technology before you could impliment this sort of thing without a rollercoaster track.

speaking of testing real cars, the only test i've seen were Corvettes. but it was altogether different then the TT type test. it was Corvettes that were going to go to car lots and stuff. so this person would drive it into this room on these 4 roller things in the floor. a tv screen would come down and tell the guy to go, brake, that kind of thing, and it would monitor the speed (how's THAT for a job...testing the speed and brakes of a Corvette all day long! :sohappy: woo hoo!!) as far as i know, they didn't have a test track to take them on...and, of course, since these Corvettes in particular were going to be sold, i'm sure they weren't going to crash test them. so it was a completely different test altogether...but still, a test. just thought i'd share! :)
