Based on the info I have construction won't start until September, although a lot of progress has been made in both plots of land. I'll get some pictures this week for you guys and we can compare those to the ones I took a few weeks ago.

Really looking forward to the pics... I figured the permits won't be filed until September, especially since there was a 9 month demolition timeline.. Seems to all jive...

I imagine they may be prepping the land....

Update. The ground is cleared and leveled and ready for foundation work. There are also several construction trailors on the site. I would expect it to break ground any day.

And they're supposed to be using it as a staging area for one of the Studios projects. Of course, it will be probably the SS44 project, which will be done in about a year anyway so it probably would cause too much disruption.

There was some confusion about that because of the addresses Universal used, but SS44 and Potter staging will likely both take place on the the last empty plot. Hotel will get started as soon as it can. (they've already done the grading as Scuttle and others have reported)

I've always wondered why they don't do more staging for attractions in the huge plot of land behind the Simpsons/MIB...I did notice they actually used it for Gru's house though when building Despicable Me.

Ahhhh ok. Yeah, the addresses with parks can get confusing very fast. That makes a lot more sense.

So how will they get guests to the park? Shuttle bus?

Seems that way. They haven't given us too much info, but did say they will build a walkway. Def no water taxi or free express pass, but they will get early admission. I'll report back when I have more info.
