New Holiday Emporium Windows

I hope this hasn't been posted in another thread (I didn't see any comments), but the Emporium windows on Main Street had their miniature dioramas replaced with all new holiday versions. Saw them last night, and they are fantastic. They are all scenes from Mickey's Christmas Carol and feature some very cool animations.

Of course, it was the one time I didn't bring my camera into the park, but I know that the regulars here will have some pics in short order.

From the pix at AllEars and Laughing Place, these displays appear to be the same ones that were used at the Disney Village back in the day.

This is a display that used to be brought out in these windows every year but have not for a long time since the princess windows seemed to be stationary. I am hoping this will bring forth a resurgence in the changing the windows with detailed scenes like this for upcoming movies and promotions.

Disneyland changes there windows every year. I'm shocked Walt Disney World doesn't do the same.

So, here's my problem... with this being my first christmas season in Florida I don't know what's new. I photographed these yesterday and had I knew they were new I would have posted them... oh well!

I took them at night, and I didn't bring my tripod so they're a bit blurry... enjoy anyways!

They are. They used to be at Disney Village, and also made a journey across the country at one point on tour (not really sure for what). They have not been seen by the public in several years, but after some TLC, they are back, and quite awesome, If I do say so myself. They tell the entire story of Mickey's Christmas Carol, starting on the far left window of the Emporium, town square side, and wraping around the corner going down Main Street. There are 6 in all.

These replace the broken-down princess windows, and the Mickey's Christmas Carol scenes look fantastic!

As someone else already pointed out, this is the kind of stuff WDW used to do on a regular basis—not every few years. It's another example of how the resort used to be operated as such, and is now merely another branch of the WDC conglomerate. :(

Anyway, I'm glad to see my favorite Mickey film getting attention again! :sohappy:

Look at the quality, craftsmenship, and attention to detail in those 30 year old sets. Further proof that the old Disney company was far superior to the coprorate Disney of today. I applaud them for bringing these back because they remind me of the real Disney magic.
