But will they still work after 3 months?I didn't see this posted yet, but new FLIK (Fabulous Line Information Keeper) cards are being rolled out to replace the current bright red ones. The new cards come in different colors and are attraction-specific.
I'm not sure making them attraction-specific is a good idea.
Won't that just encourage people to collect them rather than turn them in?
which the user must wear around the neck.People already steal them as it is..... Which is why I think they should be attached to cinderblocks....
I don't get it. 1.5 billion and you can't use it to replace a system that's been used for years and years? Maybe it's to ease people out about being spied on so much.Couldn't they just track this with magic bands?
I would hope so, given how far RFID technology has come. Of course, only time will tellBut will they still work after 3 months?

What about guests who use Stand By who don't tap in for the attractions? You want every person to tap in and out? Or tell that one guest to tap in but remember to tap in at the end, but only you, no one else! This is why WDW is going to hell in a handbaskst TWDC spent billions on a system capable of tracking an individuals movements through the parks yet cannot even leverage the system to track time spent in a queue

A physical tap isn't needed, they already have the tech and they use it for Storymaker. What about guests who use Stand By who don't tap in for the attractions? You want every person to tap in and out? Or tell that one guest to tap in but remember to tap in at the end, but only you, no one else!

So is the debate installing readers at every attraction or just handing out cards? Got no dog in that fight about caring either way. I think they think I'm too eager to get one and skip me.Since the Bands can be read long-distance without being tapped to a reader, all it would require would be sensors located in the Standby queue in spots at the entrance to the queue and near the boarding platform, positioned to read Bands on Guests as they walk by. Not everyone has to have a Band, but they get a wait-time calculation from Point A to Point B for each person who *is* wearing a Band.

My husband tried to keep one ( as a joke really), and the CM was very insistent that he give it back to the CM. He told him that the other cast members had let him keep it before! My husband has a rather dry sense of humor ( the CM didn't like it).
