Theres been a few rumors of a new video for Soarin'. If anyone knows anything about please post!

Now, what would you like to see in the video?
I think it would be pretty cool, if at the end when you fly over Disneyland, you see the house from up just fly by across the screen. That movie was adorable. So what parts of the world or landmarks would you like to see featured in a new video for Soarin' (If they make a new film for it)

I was really hoping for a flilm either over Florida or around the country, hitting some famous cities, landmarks, and great spots.

You could really do a lot of cool stuff with climate and wind with a Soarin' over America concept.

Then again, I think I'll be taking my 1-year old son's kids to Disney before that happens.

Yes, a new video would be nice. Even nicer would be four or five different videos that ran randomly. Or majority rules as the audience picks prior to the ride. You would think that Disney would take advantage of having 4 or 5 different rides for the price of one. I understand that there is a price associated with each video or camera, but you get the point.

Give me either a montage for Soarin' Over America, or one of Soarin' Over the World. For me, the latter would fit even better into the themes found in Epcot....

Disney would have that paid off within one day at the park

Soarin' over the World is the PERFECT tie in for WS and would bridge FW and WS quite nicely. It's a no brainer.

The soarin' over America idea is the one I would like to see. They could start at Disneyland and end up at Disneyworld. As much as I love the current film I hope they do make a change.

I would love to see Soarin' over the world, tons of things could be done with that. Florida just doesn't have the different landscpes that California has to make a full video.

I agree it should make morse sense, incorporating Florida or at the very least WDW at the ending, but if they do remake the film....it HAS to be in 3D....its practically feels like its already 3d now but actually making it like that, would take it over the top in coolness...after the release of avitar and other imax 3d movies i just cannot see this not being the standard

There have been a few rumours that the next film would be soarin over the world as Disney Paris have been looking at installing the ride once a suitable film is available so the film would have a global feel. This has also been rumoured for one of the Asian parks based on the same reason so this would spread the costs around a bit for a new film. One thing they could do would be to finish each film with the local disney park fireworks and castle that would be cool!

I always thought that they should do a Soarin over America, and do it in 3D.

They should keep the same score, but set it to flights over The Grand Canyon, New York City, the Rockies, Las Vegas, Disneyland and Walt Disney World, etc.

At the the very least, digitalize the video. Last time I was there, the video looked really poor. Grainy and blurry.......

My thoughts:

-It should be in 3D.
-Should be either: Soarin' over America, Soarin' over Florida, or Soarin' Around the World
-Should have weather effects. Lighting, thunder, wind, etc.
-Should end going over WDW.
-Lastly, make it HD.

Oooooh, great ideas....they could have rain too, and have a water effect.....that would be cool!!

I think it would be epic. They could also have fog by making use of the mist effect. It'd be great. But if they were to do this, I think they should also do some more with the queue because a major refurb would do the attraction well, but not the lines. It would make lines so much longer.

I love the idea of Soarin' over the world, but I think it would tie in better with The Land pavilion if it was the world's natural wonders. Just imagine flying over the Grand Canyon, Victoria Falls, Ayers Rock, or Mount Everest. It would be awesome! Another idea that would be pretty cool is if the scenes you traveled to were random and changed each time. This would greatly enhance the re-rideability factor and make Soarin' even better. You would never quite get the same ride twice.

A few notes that always seem to come up when this discussion pops up...

-Under current technology, single-projector digital projection of OmniMAX is not possible. It's under development, but years away from implementation. Main issues are brightness and resolution.

-I'm not sure if 3D would work on the curved OmniMAX screens. Yes, it would work right in front of you, but I think you'd have issues on the sides. There would either be blurring or perspective problems. Plus, even if it were possible, that would require a second projector to be installed up in the projection mezzanine, along with its accompanying film bin loops. There may not be space for it all.

-A Soarin' Around the World *was* in pre-production planning, but I don't know if filming had ever started on it. Last I knew, it was the same production company that worked on the new "O Canada" film.
