Lee can probably clear this up but I thought the mermaid gift shop plan had been axed?

Why would they cancel an opportunity to take guests money?

I really hope they have a bunch of trees on the mountain like they do in the model. Also I hope the walls/fences surrounding the SDMT ride will allow people to see the ride in multiple spots. I think seeing the ride really helps build excitement for the ride as well as while on the ride.

I'm just going by the Fantasyland model. Truely we don't know what will be built in that space behind the Mountain..it could be just a garden ,and trees with benche's for weary guest. Not till construction begins on that area, will we all know what the theme or use will be ...but it should be Mermaid related.

They have begun construction on TLM gift shop and Fastpass distribution. It's directly behind the main rectangular building above -- their off-angle foundations have already been poured and delineated. These are not BOH structures as there would be no reason to make them that size or shape. They are a perfect match for the buildings shown in the model. Unfortunately, we won't get to see them completed until 2014.

Too bad it wasn't a little quick service type thing with fish tacos and other snacks that would feel like they were by the sea. Crab legs like the turkey legs found elsewhere?

Though I don't know how many guests enjoy seafood.

I think Ariel would find that borderline cannibalistic.

You sir are totally correct. In Lee's model, the second lift hill is the rear-most part of track and there are clearly buildings behind the lift hill already being constructed. Unless the plans have changed again....

I would think Mermaid Fastpass distribution would be in a temporary location with the long term intent to be Fastpass+
