:veryconfu Future World really can't host a parade untill they they remove the giant supports holding up the Innoventions roof when you walk through innoventions. Even the ToN floats would have a hard time through that little space!
ACK! Thanks for catching that for me... I meant World Showcase. There is, indeed, no way Future World could host a parade. There are no large backstage entrances/exits in the plaza, only on the West and East Sides and even then, there wouldn't be room on either of those sides.

another EPCOT parade would be great...Tapestry of Nation was so amazing. too bad that we won't get to see another parade wind through World Showcase.

Wow i didn't know that! anyway the old show i saw in EPCOT was held in "the fountain of nations" stage and it was themed to "the magic of color" featuring a large animatronic cyborg dinosaur thingie and Mickey and friends.

Does anyone remember this show? I just found this picture. I remember seeing it when I was in middle school. But could not remember much else about it.

The show was called Surprise in the Sky, it had some kites, fireworks (didn't work in the day) big inflateable characters on the water, and some other stuff. It had the interest level of El Rio El Del Tiempo. It was a bad attempt to get people out of Future World and into World Showcase earlier.

I remember that show...... I always thought it was strange to have daytime fireworks. But I remember being able to see them from the lobby parking lot at Caribbean Beach.

Didn't I read somewhere that some of the music from this show is/was used in the Fountain of Nations?

I never saw the epcot parade(s), but I can imagine with the little walking room there is around WS it must have been really hard for people to bypass the parade.

i got stuck in china.................. it stunk! at least i could have gotten stuck infront of a country with some bruskis. nope, just had to sit there. i think (if memory serves) i crawled around some bushes and went to maelstrom. but that may have been wishful thinking.

These are the current selections for the Fountain of Nations soundtrack:
-Selection from Disney's animated feature "Rescuers Down Under"

-Instrumental from the "Air Battle" sequence from Surprise in the Skies, a former daytime lagoon show at Epcot

-Selection for a proposed Epcot show "Around the World with Mickey Mouse"

-Selection from the Disney live-action feature film The Rocketeer (

-"Day One" by John Tesh

-"Standing in Motion" by Yanni

-Selection from the Disney live-action feature film Iron Will

As for the WS Parade, it would make sense that they conjure one up for the 25th, though that doesn't look probable since Pressler's departure (he always liked shiny new parades and shows rather than actual rides). As much as I loved ToN and ToD, I would much rather have new attractions for the 25th (and Cranium Command open! Grrr!). Though, on the other hand, WS right now is seriously lacking in ANYTHING, and a parade would still be a welcome addition.

Maybe the ideas have fell on the backburner and will go on the frontburner sometime near the end of the Disneyland 50th celebration. They only have so much of a budget for thhese parties that they need to wait a little for it. Because if they don't :shakes fist:
