It looks like someone has decided to create the new lights of winter, sadly it's not Disney though!!

These lights are being created in Edinburgh, Scotland but looks like Lights Of Winter is the inspiration.

Here is the official info....
"The Virgin Money Street of Light is a breathtaking new event set to light up Edinburgh’s Old Town this Christmas.
Stretching from St Andrew’s Day to Christmas Eve, an architectural installation of 26 arches of 60,000 lights will run along the Royal Mile, from City Chambers to the Tron Kirk.
Enter this stunning canopy of light, rising up to 19 meters high,
and listen to music synchronised to the lights."

It's just a pity that Disney could not create this again in Epcot, even with a sponsor!!!

Edinburgh (like other locales in the U.K.) has always decorated with ornate Christmas light displays. I believe this year is the first time the lights have been extended into the Old Town however....

omg do you work for Edinburgh Tourism?
No, nor do I work for Blackpool Tourism, where the light display uses 1,000,000 lights over a six-mile run.

All I'm saying is that these type of displays, while dead/dying at WDW, are quite common in Edinburgh and the U.K.

Blackpool Illuminations are run from the end of August to the beginning of November every year as a way of extending the summer season for the seaside resort.

They have one Disney display now based on Alice In Wonderland, back in the 50's they had many light displays from Disney, actually sponsored by the company

Again Blackpool Illuminations are in bad need of investment and a sad reflection on their former self, the council are trying to get private sponsorship without much success

Must be really difficult for them to work with all that "obsolete technology".
But yet they continue to operate launch pads and fountains that were used for Laserphonic Fantasy and they seem to work just fine with globe shaped screen and Brand new Lasers that work along with 10-20 year old hardware. Yeah I believe they were obsolete.
