Asking for a friend here. She just interviewed for Housekeeping and is extremely nervous Housekeeping will not be the best fit for her. She asked her recruiter during the interview if there was any other positions available and was apparently told only Housekeeping and Food and Beverage. She didn’t want food and beverage so she accepted Housekeeping. I believe she was looking for attractions or merchandise. Her biggest concern is once she starts and goes through housekeeping training, if she isn’t comfortable and finds she can’t do it, will she be able to speak to her leaders about transferring? or will she have to resign? Obviously she really wants to work for the company but isn’t sure about Housekeeping. Due to the pandemic, rules might have changed from how things were handled pre covid?

Thanks.

If she was hired on PT she could put in for FT transfers immediately (as soon as she has access to the Hub) but if she was hired on FT, which it seems a lot of Housekeepers were, she'll have to stay there a full year. The only other option is if she ends up being physically unable to perform the role for whatever reason (allergic to the cleaning chemicals they use, for example) in which case she could speak to her leaders about a force transfer. But in those cases you would usually need proof of some kind, like a doctor's note.

Thanks I’ll let her know. She was hired FT. Hopefully everything works out and she catches on, if not hopefully she can speak to her managers or recruiter and figure something out.
