New Early morning Studios upcharge event

I've yet to see value in any upcharge event with the exception of Harambe Nights. But I still didn't go. Too rich for my blood.

But I don't get outwardly angry about these events as they have had little impact on current offerings to daily guests.

I do, however, smile a little when they fail.

These events can be significantly impacted by voting with your wallet.

Can you sign up for Jedi Training early as well if you do this?

Show up at 8 for JTA signups, wait around to get in..OR Show up at 8 and get in the park an hour early. I think I'll choose the latter. Hope it stick around!

I'm actually trying to see if thats the case. The ONLY day we had a studios and can get the kids into the JA is one one of these GD events!!!! I hear the sign up is difficult already with normal rope drop people, now I need to worry about these Early Entry people!!??!! I almost feel that I HAVE to book this just so I can get my kids a FREE experience.

GRrrrrrrrRR!!

I see this as a another options for breakfast at HS. The characters breakfast at 50 Prime Time is very popular and the new one at SI-FI is also very hard to get reservations for in the morning. These do not include getting to ride Star Tours or Toy Story with breakfast and Meet and Greet.
( it will be interesting to see if SI-FI will change their breakfast since they share the same kitchen with ABC Commissary.)

That's the exact reason that I'm booking a Candlelight Processional dinner package.lol

But really, it shouldn't have an impact if you were signing up anyway. You should be there be 8am either way, with this option you can just enjoy the park during that time instead of waiting outside of the entrance. If I were you I'd be there by 7:45 to be safe, but I'd say that regardless of an early morning event. I missed it last time because our breakfast ran late...I won't let that happen again!

That's the thing. I wasn't planing on doing the early entry. Being at ripe drop like the rest of the guests--yes. But now I think I need to be one of the idiots who buys the early magic crap just so I can be sure and get a good time for the Jedi thing. Ugh

The character dining is at H&V, not 50sPT.

And while popular it's not hard to get a reservation there, still has availability for tomorrow morning. As much as I don't like paying those prices for a character buffet, I definitely won't pay $69 just because it adds a couple attractions. IMO that price should include the whole park for at least two hours, and I'd probably still pass personally.

You don't/shouldn't need to! I was told to arrive at HS @ 8am to guarantee a JTA spot. We arrived at 9:15 last time and it was already full.

Sorry about Hollywood and Vine mistake since those two are join at the hip it was hard to tell them apart. But
To meet Olaf, it was only a 5 minute wait! So... I just don't get it!
might be reading it wrong but I thought it said that he might visit your table since he is only across the street as the same thing with Hollywood Mickey and Minney. Toy Story can cross backstage to get to ABC Commisary.

Think for yourselfer
Remember when all we had to worry about was where they could jam in more cupcake parties? Now that they have maximized that particular revenue stream(parades and fireworks) they are looking for every conceivable place they can fire mickey waffles down guests wide open maws.

Private Disney Conversation:

Guy 1: We need more monies. What time of the day isn't being properly monetized?
Guy 2: How about early mornings at Hollywood Studios?
Guy 1: Great idea.
Guy 2: We can let guests in two hours early, have a nice buffet, let them ride all 4 of DHS top tier attractions before the park opens to regular guests! That sounds like a decent value.
Guy 1: How about no, Scott? Let's do breakfast at the ABC Commissary, no one eats there anyway. Some mickey waffles and stale bagels. Those are cheap to make. Then we only allow them access to Star Tours and Toy Story. And we charge them $70pp. This way each family is ponying up another $300. That's like, all profit!!!
Guy 2: Wow guy 1, you really think guests will go for that? Doesn't sound like a very good value.
Guy 1: Of course. Those morons love "exclusive" experiences. Plus they are getting our premium buffet. They already pay $45pp for those waffles. What's another $25?
Guy 2: Wow, Guy 1, you're the best there is.

Disney Publicly: "Look at this great new experience idiots valued memory making guests! For the low low price of $69.99 you can bring your entire family and make wonderful memories while riding 2 of Disney Worlds most popular attractions! Breakfast at ABC Commissary included!!!"

You forgot to include that the conversation started by them drooling mindlessly on themselves for 20 minutes before starting to talk.

If this would have included ToT and RnR, I would have actually considered it for my trip later this year- I am only going to be able to go to the parks for 1 day and want to maximize how I can. Being out of 1 park at park opening and heading to another wouldn't be so bad...If I wasn't going to spend more time in MK, I'd think about that one instead. If I was going for a multi-day trip, I'd probably skip it...

I am curious though to know what the attendance cap is on these things - could they let in so many people (with so few open attractions) that you could still wind up having a long wait for any one of these things, let alone try to hit all of them?

Anyone know the capacity limits for ABC Commissary? I'd suspect (hope) it's no more than 3-4 times that number to allow everyone 30 mins or so to eat. I'd guesstimate 1,000 people tops. But the lines would be highly subject to how much capacity they open on those rides. Running 1 Star Tours simulator would be a vastly different wait than if they opened them all, same with TSMM if they run just the new 1 track side, or run all 3 tracks.

The dessert parties are comparably priced, and for those you get premium viewing, a half meal, and some alcohol. Think of this as a breakfast party. For it, you get early entry, premium ride time, and a full meal. One is at night, one is in the morning. They're basically the same thing, people--no outrage necessary.

Think of it this way...the more people with free flowing money who buy into these things, the more money Disney gets, which makes them more likely to build the things you are actually interested in.
