New Disneyland Hotel?

We stayed at the Grand Californian once for our anniversary and they surprised us and gave us a free upgrade to the penthouse suite. It was 2000 square foot and was just ridiculous.

Nice. I got no such upgrade for my birthday : ) Though we did get free champagne for our anniversary at Narcoose's at WDW for our anniversary last year. I think the only time we stayed at GC was on an AP rate several years ago and we paid $179 for one night. What a bargain compared to today.

We've stayed at the Disneyland Hotel twice in the last year and each timer we were in the wing of it on the east side of the pool. No wait times for either bank of elevators at all, building was kinda dead actually.

Our DL hotel room faced the pool on the conceirge level which was probably why it was a bit more. This was pre renovation of the pool area, when the waterfalls & shops were still around.
